Interesting to say the least.
There were a lot of "stay aways" who said they'd go to games including StAndrews if there were signs of a new ground!!

Fuck a duck!
No mention of timescale but would think we are talking 3-4 years minimum given the planning process doesn’t appear to have started.

great news for the future but maybe points to a little longer at StAns/less favourable deal at Ricoh

For some that will be too far from the city centre, boycott needed...

Without the partnership of Warwick Uni, it would be easy to say that its just a ploy to get a better deal at the Ricoh but I don't image the Uni would play that game

Even though we all know it's Coventry, it will be Warwick District Council so you know people will be outraged at that.

On the Warwickshire side of the site so don’t have to get planning permission from the council.

I’m sure that’ll be the new thing people use as a stick to beat the club with though. “Well it’s not in Coventry is it” despite the fact it takes just as long to get from the city centre to the Ricoh as it does to get to Warwick Uni.

BREAKING: Coventry City plan for £30m stadium at University of Warwick within five years

COVENTRY City Football Club are seeking to build a new stadium at the University of Warwick - potentially within five years.
coventryobserver.co.uk

Theres more on this.

18k to 20k modular
It is hoped much of the funding would come from ‘enabling development’ such as retail or student accommodation
The planning authority would therefore by Warwick District Council, rather than Coventry.
It is understood the project’s partners are already examining potential sporting and academic link-ups, such as in sports science, hospitality, and with the Sky Blues in the Community programme.

Right?

The sky blue express continues to gather pace for its one way ticket back to the Premier League. Great news. Early days but at least it’s a start! Plus under the jurisdiction of Warwick Council so we shouldn’t have any interference from those tossers from the City Centre. 18/20k modular with potential to increase to 35k if required. Superb.

Can't help but think the Ricoh is still the end goal in all of this, but this definitely gives the club a strong hand to play.

Interested to see the next stage of the plans

It is a bit vague, 5 years but no actual site identified etc. £30m seems very low?

Fantastic news.

If people are finding excuses now, they really shouldn’t be a fan.

Massive kick in the teeth for Wasps and Council.
