I have no idea why people don't just mention the player if they know who it is........Perhaps we could make a "guess who" board and perhaps ask questions throughout the day! Come on Nick sort it out..... put it below the "ask Twitter man" thread.

Ha there is not much I can do :( We all know it is Sam anyway!

Since it has been mentioned yes its McFadden and whether he is here for the weekend depends on him accepting the contract offered. Just know the club want to keep it queit until its a defo yes or no given the King debacle.

Cheers for letting us no. Still think it seems abit far fetched but IF it was to happen it would be a great signing. Just think he would go to a better team than us!

The Blackurn and Everton target, James McFadden considering Sky Blues

Scotland star McFadden attracting interest as Blackburn and Everton plot moves

Blackburn are showing interest in former Birmingham midfielder James McFadden who is available on a free transfer. Everton have also been linked.

....................................

Anyone else think this is just being bank rolled by Brody, just so he can go back on Twitter

You sure you haven't just read this off cov facebook site? As some clown has put exactly the same information as you and has also claimed it's from his source??

Sorry but I am totally underwhelmed - a player who missed the whole of last season through injury, has never scored more than 6 goals in any one season in England (admittedly mostly in Prem) , has a goal record of 1 in 8 and is not the type of player we need - we need a goal scorer.

Birmingham City: Injured star James McFadden receives contract boost

Oct 31 2010
INJURY-PRONE James McFadden will not be abandoned by Blues.
The Scotland star’s latest Ko came when he ruptured cruciate knee ligaments last month – at the worst possible time.
McFadden had just turned in a starring performance against Liverpool and was coming into top form. And his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
But Alex McLeish insisted: “We have got a two-year option on James. That’s the situation.

“And I wouldn’t think that we would be letting a guy like James McFadden walk out of here free.”

He was on 40k a week at Blose, even if he does sign, he won't be fit for another 2 month. He hasn't had a pre-season, non-starter.

Dear James McPake...

Good news. We at CCFC have felt bad that for the past 18 months you have spent a lot of time on your back watching television due to being injured. As we care for your welfare, we have just employed another Injured Scot to keep you company. Please dont be irritated by him constantly laughing, that will be because we have given him 10k a week to sit next to you.

Heard a rumour about McFadden the other day. A bit disappointed as I don't feel he's worth that much in wages.

Mcfadden is a quality player, he may not score goals but he is class. He could play as a support striker or in behind the strikers. However he is injury prone with two major injuries keeping him out of most of the last two seasons I believe. Would be a great coup if we pulled it off but I doubt it.

He left Brum July 30th....he has signed for no one else and like I say it comes from someone who has been reliable in the past. He knows the contract is a wage drop (70k at brum my arse by the way) but it offers him first team footbalL AND IF YOU DONT THINK HE IS BETTER THAN WHAT WE HAVE ERRRRRRRRRRR HELLLLOOOOOO

I'm not questioning his ability or his contract terms. The facts are : Hes a good player WHEN fit. He's had no Pre season so he won't be playing for a while. I would steer clear.

It's all about fitness with McFadden. When fit, he is a player with real quality and a terrific left-foot. It's just a matter of having him available.
Would be brilliant, as long as he plays enough to justify the wages.

Marlon King springs to mind, didn't he miss the first quarter of the season? Still finished player of the season and our highest scorer. A guy of his quality only needs to play 50% to have a huge impact on a squad like ours.

I agree Rich.

Strange a few of us have heard the same. Do we go for a player that has not been signed as there are better out there, or do we take a gamble like with King? Just like with King, he was a 5m striker a few years ago. Everyone knows he will do well whilst playing. Could he be put on a pay per play, or at least pay when fit contract? I think he is only about 28/29. Has a few seasons ahead of him. Half a season from a prem quality player is better than 3/4 season from a championship or below player. Players rarely ever play a whole season.

From a very reliable source I can tell you the player we are trying to sign to replace King is a far bigger star than Lefondre but it will be dependent on whether the guy wants to drop his wages to the offered £10,000 per week

Ahhh the source is codename ALF ...

Another thing on our side is he should live close enough to travel each day without having to move. Sky is like the Telegraph. Lets guess who is going where as they are at the level where the player without a contract is used to and they need a striker. I am not saying I am in the know, just someone I know who is normally right told me a couple of days ago he is a target. AT is aiming high so he said if it happens, it happens. He is not expecting it to happen, but there is a decent chance of pulling off what could be a good signing.

he would improve our team when he plays without a doubt. only worry is injuries and we can't afford to pay someone 10k a week for sitting on the treatment table. too big a risk for a club in the financial situation we find ourselves in

If we are losing £500k per month, whats another £40k between friends? It could be the difference between staying in the league and going down. How much would the club lose should that happen?

We will get the cash from gunnar to pay his wages. We have a manager who plays to his strengths. If we are doing well it makes our club more sellable. Big gamble like with King though. He rotted away in a cell whilst other players were match fit. Still did well for us in the end though. It is just a matter of wait and see.

Probably won't sign mcfadden or le fondre, but if we could get mcfadden on pay as you play he'd be an quality signing.
