Maybe Dhillons should become an away pub? Everyone else up the CBS.

Bit of a fail in there today, queue for the bars was a joke. Pulling points as there being ordered, pour a load and have them lined up.

Kids don’t enjoy it was too busy and noisy. Think it needs a separate bit for the band and beers etc and separate for kids stuff.

Really impressed for a 1st attempt, much better than I expected, more games for the kids, decent food, big screens, just need more bars for next time but without knowing how many would turn up thats difficult to gauge!

I went and had a look after the game, my god the cues, they've got to sort that out, not enough security guard scanning people on the way in, it will put people off going in if they don't sort it out.

And the music is far too loud when you order food or drink they can't hear what you're saying.

Get it sorted Doug.

Sounds a bit negative but was shit. Stupid queues to get in then nothing in there to justify queuing for. Good idea but make it worth going to.

What would you suggest to make it better?

More bars. It was a good 30 to 40 minutes wait on the queue to get a beer

As bad as the queue situation sounds in there today. I was outside in the usual bit. Queued for 20 minutes and they closed the bar just when I was next. Seething.

As a positive though. Block 10 is incredible.
Waltzed in with no queue at 14:40. Straight to the bar with no queue. Half time, don’t even need to go down early, bev in hand within 5 minutes.

Yeah it's the best part of the South Stand. In through the turnstiles and with a beer within a minute or two. Just a shame they only serve Budweiser in the bars.

Dhillons was very busy yesterday with very few away fans in there. There's room for it. A couple of people I was with left for the fans village and then came back. When you're getting 30K gates we need as many venues as possible. It's good that the fans village was busy and the extra revenue is great, but it won't be open every game, there will be event clashes (midweek and Xmas party season for example).

I tried it after the game.

Queues to get in were ridiculous, if I was in a rush (eg train to catch) I’d have canned it. However they suddenly opened two extra doors and the queue disappeared within minutes, so it shows they can quicken things up going forward.

Once inside it was a good set up and drinks queues were quick too. If I was being picky the choice of beer was lacking, but I know that isn’t a big factor for most.

It was a little loud if you did want to have a good conversation, but not a major gripe and I feel very old saying that.

Great idea and I’m sure they’ll learn from it each time.

We thought it was fantastic pre game. Loads for the kids to do, loads of space, longest we queued for a beer was about 20mins, theyll add more bars for sure.

Now the winter months are coming it will hopefully remain very popular, great atmosphere.

Not many other clubs will have the ability to do anything like this so I think its great

I am sure the club will improve the experience as time goes on. Personally I would favour the club slightly splitting up the space into zones I.e.

1. Family zone where all the activities for kids would be located together.
2. Food and drinks zone with wooden picnic benches etc for fans to sit and talk at.
3. TV and more bars zone where the 2 big screens are used for people who want to watch the early game.
4. Music zone, where the speakers are focused so while the rest of the hall can hear the tunes those in the music zone can get the loudest noise.

We left when there was a problem with the beer and queues beginning to get very long.
More bars needed as it gets colder and wetter.
I would also add (only my thoughts) but listening to the match on the screen rather than the loud music..
Other than that, have to appreciate it is a start and will obviously be worked on to ensure people continue to use it.
Can’t moan really though as Doug and his staff are really creating a great vibe pre game

Took my lad in there (aged 10), whilst it was noisy and won't be everyone's cup of tea, he had a great time. Did the speed shooting, played a match (and scored a goal at the CBS). When he looks at google maps, I no longer have to explain to him what the spaceship thing attached to the arena is. Most importantly "it's ours". For years there was nothing to entice you to the arena, it's taken 20 years, but it does feel like home now. All of the activities were free (other than food and drink!). Yes it will need some tweaking around the edges, but as a first stab it was great. Watching my son play a match to the tune of "message to you Rudy" was fantastic. The club is heading in the right direction, both on and off the pitch.

Not sure I agree with kids doing that but glad he had a good time under parental supervision.

Good stuff. The exhibition hall has been criminally under-used since the place was built.

I can't quite understand why get scanned again as most fans get scanned at the turnstiles anyway.

Went to visit after the match but there looked to be lengthy queues just to get in.

So went to Dhillons, which was still quite busy itself.

There is an event on the day of the Charlton home game so that's already one fixture it won't be able to be opened.

Its a fair point but, people are coming from outside the ground so anyone could get in there who hasn't been scanned inside the ground.

The reason it takes so long is because the security guards, which there is not enough of them, are using handheld scanners and scanning people all over from head to toe, they need to use what they use going into the corporate areas a walk through scanners and then you only pick out those people when it sets an alarm off.

That would speed up the cues.

Good to see they have taken feedback onboard and are adding more bars on Saturday

Shame it doesn't open until 10am as was going to give it a go, but usually get to early kick offs at 9. Good that they have responded to feedback so quickly.

Great news, normally get there about 11:30 but will probably go earlier to give it a go (couldn't go to the Blackburn game). Decent win and will probably stay for an hour after too. Amazing how easy it is to take money off knobheads like me when we own the ground and charge £3.60 a pint.

No Fan Village tonight is there? Unless I missed it somewhere?

I even read the Match Day Guide, which I didn’t even know was a thing until yesterday! I’ve had a ST for over 25 years!

That Norwich City stuff above is interesting. It used to be lauded as a club that had a local owner and a great relationship between fans and owners, when we were the opposite. Not it’s the other way round. Makes me think we must do all we can to keep building what we have now, take all the opportunities to engage, be constructive about what we want, support things like the fan village and spend money, and be patient when the inevitable bit of bad form arises etc. We are in such a good place. I have to pinch myself sometimes. Let’s do what we can to keep that going

A bit late to the party on this one, but The Norwich one is interesting - Delia ran a steady ship for years, had them fluttering in and out the Prem yet their fans said she was a product of the past and demanded she sold up
