He came in when we were rock bottom sure and playing shit football. We finished higher every year apart from last year when our cup run and injuries caught up with us. We were a whisker away from a cup final. That says with Adi we have never stood still, and there is no evidence to suggest we would go backwards. Adi was talking about us getting to the Prem as just a matter of time. We were just simply getting better year on year. Virtually every player through the door improved and Adi was a big part of that no matter the level we were playing. Sure you could point out a few that haven't improved but they are far outweighed by the successes.
We have had 7 years of the best football played in years and much of this during the SISU shitshow. People need to acknowledge Adi for the major influence he has had on this club.
Read the articles in the Telegraph. Unusually he was happy here as a number two and was not seeking to move. Why has MR never been poached? Exactly the same argument. Is he not good enough either and we need to improve by replacing him?
Change is not always for the better especially if the new AM is not the right person. Change can often come with potential downsides. Never said we cant improve with a better AM, but as I said a hard act to follow.

I think you are probably right but until details see the light of day we will not know. I really hope it is not some trivial excuse because Adi was not a yes man. See his response to Mourinho about his coaching methods. You need balls to stand up to the special one when he was at his peak at Chelsea.

Yep… this is the start of the new Ashley dynasty. Beginning with the stealth appointment of Wise….we’ll be replacing Hummel with Lonsdale before the year is through.

The trouble is fans make judgements on a name and what they know and remember about them as a player. They won't know anything about their coaching qualifications, their coaching ability, how up to date their coaching skills are. Their real personality and mentoring ability.

Some of the most talented and gifted footballers have pancaked as managers and coaches.

I remember John Sillet saying, "I wasn't a natural footballer, I had to work hard at it. I had to listen to the coaches and learn about tactics. The good players didn't as it was all instinct and natural ability. I hard to learn everything about how to play football.". I think that is what made him a good coach and he just wanted players to enjoy playing football.

Yep. Always felt the best coaches/managers are those that weren't the best players as they had to understand the game far more.

I have often thought the same about supporters.

If you follow a very successful club it’s an easier ride, you don’t have to analyse the team to death or the formation because you have world class managers and players but when you support a struggling club you inevitably think harder about what you would do to fix the problems the team has on a limited budget.

The new Assistant Manager (AM) has a hard act to follow with Adi, as he has been our most successful AM ever. He was consistently successful previously at Chelsea. That is evidence based not speculation.
I have seen endless theories on here about players not liking him, bullying and falling out with King. I am yet to see anyone provide conclusive evidence to support these theories. Clearly, something has happened, but until Adi or the club make a statement explaining the reason for his leaving it is all up in the air. The silence is deafening.

Completely agree but what we do know is that Adi was a fan of training ‘hard’ ie same tempo and intensity of an actual match.

This ‘apparently’ led to a lot of players getting injured and supposed tiredness/lethargy in matches.

Since the new Director of performance-Dr Claire has come in she has talked about rest between games and new modern methods of training.

Reading between the lines it’s Clearly a mis-align with Adi’s train hard philosophy.

He was our coach in our rock bottom years. Both parties at the time were probably a good fit for each other? He helped move us on and was successful . He had a high profile past at Chelsea. But if he was really that good why was he never poached from us?

Adi Viveash did a good job for us. But it doesn't mean we can't move forward and improve. You don't progress by standing still.

How much is the PR monthly retainer for the club? Just curious.

Doug is creating a sustainable foundation that is not driven by 1 individual. He is setting g up the blocks and placing the personal while asking them to do certain roles. Once you do that you can see who is failing and what needs doing to improve the club

He sees it very clearly, coaches coach, managers manage, assistants assist, individual development coaches develop individual players. It means he is not being held by anyone and nobody is bigger than the club. Its creating a culture a standard as well as an expectation while handing out responsibility. So hiring an assistant takes time and has no pressure attached to it, its about finding someone who can follow the path thats being laid.

Robins clearly feels we need a period of stability now which must make Delaney favourite. I hope it goes to who ever is the best coach. I worry less about their transition.

It's all gone quiet on this. Something must be imminent. I'm not sure I can see MR and Dennis Wise hitting it off but I live for surprises

Dennis is a really likeable guy and very infectious, could be the perfect fit with Robins more Dour approach.

I rated Wise as a player, he was underrated as most talked about his character other than his ability. I heard a few things about him in the game, not all good. But definitely held respect within a group and i was surprised never went further in management.

If he is on a list or been offered the role i think it would be an interesting appointment. His background and knowledge is second to none, i just wonder how his character would fit in, but i do like the idea.

Pep a big admirer of Robins, bumped into him in Wetherspoons and he told me himself he's applying.

He told me not to say anything but I thought this is how I'd introduce myself as the new ITK.
