Yeah definitelyHad to go to Walsgrave hospital this morning for a routine blood test, think when you get past the age of fifty you have to go even if you feel okay ? Full with people as usual but only waited half an hour so not long really. The nurse asked me if I was okay with needles ? Replied yes I'm fine why ? She said she's had patients fainting. And usually it was blokes ! It was only a small needle hardly felt a thing, so to faint they must be wimps,or have a phobia ?

I hate needles, even the sight of them gets to me and I even look away when I take our dog for her annual booster. I had a blood test some time ago and had to have a lie down afterwards. Strangely I have no problem with needles at the dentist.Had to go to Walsgrave hospital this morning for a routine blood test, think when you get past the age of fifty you have to go even if you feel okay ? Are you being sarcastic ? What's mental health got to do with what I've written ?You seem like the sort of person who would tell a bloke to ‘man up’ if they were crying or talking about mental health.
Same. Really, really hate needles, but I just don't look and I'm fine.I don’t mind them but I can’t watch them going in, I used to give blood until I wasn’t allowed to due to having a blood transfusion in the early 90’s.

I think you're twisting what I wrote ? Its only a light hearted thread, but you've turned it a bit serious. I've cried when I lost my parents and my son, and consoled friends and family when they've done the same. I just find it alarming to hear that a grown man would faint at a small needle in the arm, and that's all. You’re implying that they’re a wimp just because they’re a bloke and fainted at a needle. I said you seem like the type of person who thinks that men shouldn’t cry or talk about their feelings.
I have never fainted, but have had many women faint over me.I think you're twisting what I wrote ? Its only a light hearted thread, but you've turned it a bit serious. Hate both. In fact, would say the dentist needle is more painful.Really hate needles in my arm etc what is weird is I do nt mind going to dentist and having injections in my mouth.
What a massive assumption and over reaction. BBR was clearly starting a light hearted thread. You’re implying that they’re a wimp just because they’re a bloke and fainted at a needle. I said you seem like the type of person who thinks that men shouldn’t cry or talk about their feelings.
It's like if a man faints at a little spider. You’re implying that they’re a wimp just because they’re a bloke and fainted at a needle. I said you seem like the type of person who thinks that men shouldn’t cry or talk about their feelings.
Same as, last time i went i sat down and got called straight in. As for the needles i just look away until it's in.Not bothered about them as have to have blood tests regularly due to health reasons.
If you do need a blood test I've found that booking a slot online is well worth it. Last couple of times I went (after booking) I was in and out so quick I got out the car park free. Each time I was called in exactly when I booked.
I should add that you can also book to have it done at a few chemists if it's a routine test.Same as, last time i went i sat down and got called straight in. As for the needles i just look away until it's in.
Ripnol works fine tooI have never fainted, but have had many women faint over me.
That however could possibly be down to the chloroform.
Sounds similar to a method my missus uses too.Same as, last time i went i sat down and got called straight in. As for the needles i just look away until it's in.
I hate anything to do with the eyes. Anything! Cannot watch any horror film that has any sort of eye torture or impalement and I could never, ever have contact lenses.Ripnol works fine too
Eye surgery scares the hell out of me and I will require it over the coming years as I've had the start of a Cateract over the last 3-4 years
Just can't imagine being awake while they numb me first then point whatever at it.
Ooher gives me the willies at the thought .:'( :-o
Can you be put under when they do itIe hate anything to do with the eyes. Anything! Cannot watch any horror film that has any sort of eye torture or impalement and I could never, ever have contact lenses.
Always had a phobia about eyes. Hated having the 4 lots of laser surgery I recently received.
Can you be put under when they do it
Think it will be the only solution when I need it doing
Contact lenses weren't too bad for me and I became a day hand at insulting them in the end.
She was a feminist Sadist!!I've never been a fan of needles and always look away whilst it's being done. Ones in the mouth are horrible, I always feel like i'm going to flinch while it's going in and i'll end up with it going somewhere it shouldn't.
Once upon a time me and my wife went to the hospital to find out why we couldn't get her pregnant. I had to have half a dozen needles to take blood samples and her only one. Afterwards the nurse realised they had got it the wrong way round and I needed one sample, the wife half a dozen. Awesome.
I had to send an important message to a company once and it changed Chloe to Chlorine and yep, I sent it without thinking.Haha this phone is so reckless with the predictive
It might as well be the Chinese language.
I wish I could change the wife for chloroform. In fact would swap her for just about anything.I had to send an important message to a company once and it changed Chloe to Chlorine and yep, I sent it without thinking.
