Need support lads (4 Viewers)

Sorry about this post guys, but just feel I need to look for a bit of moral support.
My wife, who is 75, was rushed to hospital today. She had spent nearly 2 hours on our bedroom floor. I tried my hardest to get her up, but failed. In the end, I called 999 to ask for help. The paramedics came fairly quickly but they also spent about another 30 to 40 minutes trying to lift her. She's a big lass and she was in a small space between our bed and dressing table. Anyway, they eventually got her up onto a chair, then after checking her vital signs, said she needs to go to hospital ASAP. After they took her, I got a phone call from the duty doctor to say she has only 80% oxygen intake where it should be 95%. She is also anemic and has sepsis. They want to give her a blood transfusion. He also asked me about DNR (do not resuscitate) and said it would be best not to as her heart would not stand thumping her chest or the use of a defibrillator. The first 48 hours are crucial.
I'm preparing myself for the worst.
Sorry for this long post lads, but as I'm not religious in any way, if any of you guys are, say a prayer for my lovely missus please.
Much love JK (formally Houchens Head)

All the best Houch.

If it's any comfort at all my mum was very similar in the summer and is 79. It was touch and go, she got the sepsis from a small knock on her leg in the garden and it took hold of her so quickly. She's thankfully made a full recovery after a couple of weeks with our brilliant NHS. Not steady on her pins, but she wasn't great before tbf. Wishing your Mrs the same outcome as mum 👍 PUSB

I'm very sorry to hear your news JK.

I am a Christian and I will most certainly hold you and your wife in my thoughts and prayers. I know that, quite understandably, you are deeply concerned about your wife but don't forget to look after yourself.

Please don't give up hope. My dad was admitted to Walsgrave Hospital with a serious infection in 1990. We turned up to visit him one night to be told that his heart had stopped, he wasn't breathing and he was technically dead but they were working on him. They resuscitated him and he spent the next few days on life support. He made a full recovery and lived another ten years.

🙏
