A deal has never been on the cards. Clubs come along and ask what we want and are put off. MVE is a great player, the majority of believers are CCFC fans, but for the price we are seeking there are many players of a similar level who cost less.
Look at the last few years the transfer market has completely changed. British players playing in Europe has increased by hundreds, less populer leagues like, Turkey, Germany div 1 and 2, France Div 1 and 2, the Saudi league, Scandinavian leagues all have become part of the giant market that now exists, even nonleague clubs have their numbers of imports.
Look at Hamer, clubs aren't interested. £15-20 million? You buy an internationally recognised addition for that.
