Some sky blue tinted glasses on with valuations of MVE here... An asset, no doubt, but better going forward than defensively. Let's hope KKH is ok, then we won't have a lack of pace on the right of defence at the start of the season...

MVE is no doubt good at this level but is quite flawed defensive. Quite often loses his man or switches off. It's cost us some important goals.
Hopefully our full backs can be tighter defensively. Including JDS who is still a worry.
I'm not into this bitter-ex revisionism.

MvE has been a great player and character at the club and will have a great career. I'll remember his time fondly.

We've replaced well and will make a decent profit while he goes to a top division. Something everybody can be happy with.

Just keeping it real. Nothing bitter.

Yep something that suits all parties is always nice. Annoying these things always seem to drag into the start of the season though.

It's not bitter ex revisionism, it's a valid observation.

MVE isn't that great defensively. For the most part his positioning is poor and he often has lapses of concentration which has lead to multiple goals being conceded.

However, comparative to the vast majority of his counterparts across the league he has the lightening pace to pull himself out of trouble now and again which is a huge asset in his position.

He's been a good player for us and has been a positive influence around the club. But, Lahm he is not.

Others were heavily critiqued last season for consistent errors yet many posters bizarrely excluded him from blame.

Colour me shocked. Some really thought we were going to have 2 quality RB's in the squad.

Makes sense, and hopefully the fee is reinvested into some positions we actually need more quality in.
Probably spent already, they just made the signings early. I also haven't a clue how they amortise the fees spent previously on players but we were said to have paid £3.4m. Hopefully they'll be a CB still to come and probably some more to leave around the edges.

Seems to have been a bit of shopping in The Championship from the Bundesliga this summer. Can someone just buy Hamer from those Blunt fuckers ffs.

We’re seeing more of the top European leagues picking up talent from the Champ. But agree… someone take Hamer and we can get some sell on funds!

I would hope Doug and FL would of gone through all the scenarios of if A goes then this can happen before sanctioning any move. If they haven't 1. id be shocked 2. Id be disappointed, because FL has said the squad is thin in certain areas in a few recent interviews.

Milan going doesn't bother me as said before we will control the outcome. What would bother me is FL and Doug singing off different hymn sheets, with FL saying one thing and Doug doing another.

What i hope to see now and its just my opinion is multiple players go in which we have cover in to get a better balanced squad. We need RB cover, LCB cover and RM/LM cover. Lots to do and not sure you want to be going into the Hull game with this being the situation, but i trust its all part of the bigger picture.

Id rather be in our position now than at any point of the last few years. We are missing cover players for possibly 3 positions. Our bench on Saturday will still be decent regardless of if anyone comes in this week

and our players are all under good contracts, we're in a much stronger position than we have been for a while.

Gutted if he goes

Need to get a good fee

Not sure wolfsburg is that good a move. The days of dzsko and grafite are long gone. Now the stadiums are rarely full and finish mid table

That said they do have without a doubt the best goal music of any club ever

If this happens then thanks Milan for the 2 years and good luck. Supporters need to get used to this model as its the sensible way to progress the club. Take the profit and reinvest, develop, sell and go again. It may not be household names being signed but it will be the higher end younger players that have a future in bigger leagues than the championship who want to develop and know they will play, with a path way they can buy into. Its the blueprint for financial stability but the pressure to find the diamonds in the rough for the recruitment team will be intense.

Always knew it would be a massive ask to keep him over the summer, from day one he's been nothing but a breath of fresh air on and off the pitch, clearly been devoted to the project from the beginning and is a massive personality in the dressing room. Will be very sad to see him leave but I have no doubt he'll be a huge success wherever he goes!

Considering what we managed to get for Binks I would be surprised if he goes for less than 10mill (overall package). Hopefully this has a domino effect and we see 2 or 3 more brought in quickly now funds are on the way

If we can get 8 figures for Milan then I think that's brilliant work. We have KKH through the door already and with Binks already out we'll have £12.5m to bring in 2 defenders. Great position to be in.

All the press is saying is that 'the player' has reached an agreement i.e his agent.. means fuck all until Doug and Frank agree it.
