quick question; Why do they need to go on a pre-season trip abroad, surely there are more pressing financial worries to think about..If you can only afford belly pork you don't buy best steak.
Does the money belong to someone else or are they just trying to get more out anyone wanting to take us over?

An investment source will see a commercial benefit from purchasing the ground at a low price bit no benefit in investing in the football arm.
I suppose it's about priorities - it seems they are now prioritising acquiring 50% of the Ricoh which means scuttling back on luxuries like training camps at Kens house.
dongonzalos; We really do need to get behind him. This sounds like the way forward. IMO[/QUOTE said:If the ghastly mutton sits on one side of the fence my natural inclination is to sit the other.
Odd that prior to May he personally would never let sisu anywhere near the ground yet the rhetoric has now changed. You'd think an election was on.
The only thing the milkman likes is publicity,
Looks like despite people's views on him, he is doing the right thing for the club.
He is in the CET today saying any deal is a long way off.
It is for 50 % but he needs to ensure any revenue gained by sisu will go back into the football club NOT to pay off sisu's investors.
If he manages to do that then the deal has my backing.
If he can't get that agreed first then I think it is s bit of a crazy move.
He is also saying sisu still have not provided proof of funds.
Fair play mutton says what he has seen so far does not leave resources for a competitive football team
So I guess its as we may have thought. They get half the stadium at the expense if us getting a team that can compete.
Anyone want to tweet Jon Gaunt over this info.

The Stadium is a long term investment. Pre Season trip is an ongoing expense
the words "Pub team " seem to fit ,making them unfit,Peter knatchbull huggeson ,"they are the most sensible people at the club in the last twenty years"Really!!!!!???????.:thinking about:quick question; Why do they need to go on a pre-season trip abroad, surely there are more pressing financial worries to think about..If you can only afford belly pork you don't buy best steak.
I think you'll find Ogwe and then ken stated the were here for the longhaul at the beggining of this season.Let's understand something.... many have forgot.
SISU have never said they are long term.
They always stated they would get the business back to a fit and proper level in terms of the club being able to financially prop itself up. When that happens they move on. Make a profit on their work in restructuring and then move.
The only way the club can get its finances back in order is the having the revenue streams from the Ricoh.
As soon as ccfc has the share or full ownership of the Ricoh the whole package 'ccfc' becomes viable to any prospective investors or takeover group.
SISU won't stick around once the Ricoh is secured. They are not a company to run companies.... they are turnaround specialists. Buy a distressed asset, get back on a level financial playing field and sell to the highest bidder.
CCFC need the Ricoh
If it means SISU get it then we will actually have a budget to run the club when measuring against revenue streams.
John
Thank you for putting a piece in the Telegraph today it was very insightful.
Unfortunately throughout this saga the fans have too often been left in the dark, leading to lots of speculation and rumours.
An example of this is as fresh as yesterday when a certain self style celebrity used social media to convince people the deal was done and SISU will own the entire Ricoh in a matter of weeks.
I appreciate earlier you asked for SISU to keep the fans informed and up to date. However they have continuously failed to do so for 5 years and have lost the trust of many fans, so the rare times when they attempt to people are unsure of the trustworthiness of the information.
Reading the article today is the first time in months I felt I was reading the truth about what is actually happening at these meetings.
Please could you continue to inform us this and show this transparency after each meeting.
Doing this may prevent you receiving all the emails you have and people setting up petitions and others unfairly attacking the council over this matter.
SISU have created an atmosphere in which many Coventry fans now feel that if SISU do not obtain some share in the stadium the future of the football club is in serious jeopardy.
This atmosphere that SISU has created has led to many fans supporting the idea of SISU getting this share. I do not think Coventry fans really want SISU to get this share because they deserve it, but because they see no other option and are fearful about not having a club to support in the future.
You have a mixture of fans with the above view, others who do not think SISU should ever get part of the stadium and I am sure the odd one who thinks SISU are very good for the future of Coventry City.
Your view that this deal should only happen if the revenue created by it has to go back into the football club, I believe will be a very popular view with Coventry City fans and tax payers alike.
I implore you to stay very strong on this matter as no doubt SISU will do their utmost to avoid having this as a clondition of any deal.
These 3 conditions have to be the way forward
1) Any revenue gained from the stadium has to be re-invested into Coventry City Football club and not SISU's investors
2) The council maintains its right to veto any future sale by SISU of this share, if they do not think the new owners are suitable.
3) SISU invest in the hotels
I think most people agree to make this club and arena successful you need a successful team to create advertising and marketing. You need a hotel to house the people to make the conferencing a success. To get this successful team you need to invest in it.
My gut instinct tells me SISU want the stadium without the investment in the team so they can sell the package as quickly as possible at minimal costs.
Once again please keep up your good work they are bullies and need someone to stand up to them who will not be bullied.
They will apply pressure on you via ACL who have no doubt had enough and want out at a healthy profit, (which I don't blame them) but you need to stay strong.
Basically I think the most important thing is communication with us the fans. If we know the truth we will make rationale decisions and I think most people will support your stance to ensure the criteria is met.
There are people out their using the media and social media to portray an imagine of the council stealing half the stadium and wanting to hold onto it for profit. They also are trying to portray the council as trying to block a deal that will save the future of Coventry City. With this in mind please use the media and spell out what is happening after each meeting.
If you get time get one of your staff to scan fans forums such as Skybluestalk.co.uk and GMKonline and you will get an idea of what is out there and what concerns need addressing.
Thanks for you hard work and keep to this agenda

Yes and Cllr Mutton is just trying to get assurances that the revenue is actually put back into the club as a budget for the club and not SISU's investors. If what you say is correct SISU will have no problem providing those assurances and everybody well be kinda happish
