You obviously haven't been reading my posts. I have been consistent all season long and have always maintained we will be top three. Not at all on the band wagon.

It's only on the back of the last two defeats where we have been expected to win after having very positive results previously that I have now swayed.

Not at all a band wagon jumper, but we can't have a couple of great wins, plus beat two higher opposition teams and then lose and be second best all game to a team at the bottom of League Two and it's been happening all season. It is simply not acceptable.

Our away form is poor and and our away form at the teams at the bottom has been pathetic.

Otis haven’t you realised yet ....there’s not a lot between these teams in league 2. Apart from probably Luton.

Anyone can beat anyone.

As Port Vale did when they beat Luton 4 nil. And the Chesterfield beat Luton 2 nil.

When we lost to FGR in October. That midweek the top 4 lost to the bottom 4. That wouldn’t happen in any other league.

Sadly, I think we'll fall short this year. Generally speaking, no team that loses more than 13 games goes up automatically. We've lost 10 already, and we're just too inconsistent to think we won't lose at least another 3 games between now and the end of the season. Play-offs is very possible though, buts that a lottery. We just have keep going and if it doesn't happen, learn from our mistakes and go again.

We can’t keep sacking managers after pissing our knickers when we have shit results like yesterday. Yes, the away form is poor. But...if we don’t go up, Robins should be given next season as well.

I know some will disagree but we’ve had awful luck with injuries. I suspect we’ve not had our best 11 out for more than 1 match this season. Our injuries to Jones and Andreu have in my opinion, had a massive impact on where we currently are. I’d therefore give him another go next season if we don’t go up this season.

But chaps, it’s early Feb. The top 10 will change quite a bit over the next 3 and half months. We’re still in this.

If we don’t go up though Robins seriously needs to address two key positions. GK and up top.

Budget size is irrelevant as you can have the biggest budget and the 24th in terms of spend. The club has a bigger wage expenditure than Accrington Stanley I am sure.

Andy Holt has invested a lot money and time in Accrington since taking control. Accrington’s success this season isn’t by accident and hasn’t been instantaneous either. There owner is worth a good few points a season on his own through his dedication, effort and determination. He creates an environment that breeds success. The opposite of our owners really.

maybe not the right thread for this, but you do have to ask, what club who have owners who don't care, has been successful ?

Yeah, get that, but in 13 games against the top teams Forest Green have won just twice.

Both against us.

By the same token, not many teams have beaten Luton at Luton. We have.

We’re just inconsistent and I think injuries have players a big part.

Sacking Robins is nuts. We’re two wins from Automatic Promotion FFS.

Like I said before, I don't think it's apathy, it's more a case of trying to look at the positives and not overreacting. But yes, automatic promotion has all but gone. 85 points needed (based on last few seasons) and we're not getting 35 points from 16 games (it's very unlikely). We can make the playoffs though and have to back the team until the end of the season. That's when we take stock and conduct the post mortem. No point making knee-jerk decisions now.

And I haven't called for his sacking.

And to nitpick ever so slightly, we are only two wins from automatic promotion if other teams above us lose at the same time.

So frustrating, because only last Tuesday we were just 1 point off 3rd place and automatic promotion.

That makes defeat to a team at the bottom of the division that much more galling.

It was a huge defeat really. We'd all convinced ourselves we had a shot at an automatic spot, but it's a long way off now it seems (although it may not seem it, but history tells us we have to average more than 2 points a game from hereon in). Ah well, who knows, it's certainly not impossible. One of the teams in and around the top 7 will do it, just can't see it being us.

Too inconsistent.

We need an unbeaten run. No offence to Forest Green, but surely we should be able to pick up a point there.

Robins post match put it down to tiredness and not tracking men tightly enough. He sees no pattern between the formation he plays away and the inability to create chances, or the one he plays at home which does.

Don't go" BackRoomRummermill " these things have to be said the no plan b or c is 1 of the worst ones .If only we had changed things in 1 or 2 of these matches it might be us up in automatic positions .I think it will finish him and us off . If things are obviously not going right change them.

Even if that’s true you are basically saying there is zero point in having a manager aren’t you? Are Accrington a top 8 budget? Again also budgets are no indication of spend. A club can be 150% of budget and another 10% - why this is a struggle for some i don’t understand.

But people are reading too much into who we’re losing to, not the total points we have.

Yes, we should most definitely beat the teams at the bottom of the table.

But those two losses against FGR, a lower league team took 6 points off us. If we’re going to lose games, I’d rather that be the case. Had we lost the games against Luton and Notts County but beaten FGR twice, we have the same points total but Luton and NC would 3 points further ahead of us.

I just think people are getting their kacks in a twist too much on the back of a bad result.

We’ve been here before this season with people questioning MR only for it to die down after a couple of wins.

Inconsistency is poor and needs addressing but we need to calm our tits down over individual results in the same way that we shouldn’t have been get semis after trouncing Luton at their place.

I see it as 6 points that a good number of our competitors managed to pick up, if not that then 4. Our record against those around us is actually pretty good, but in a shake-up as tight as this we are shooting ourselves in the foot against bottom of the league opposition. Also, inconsistency suggests difficulty in finding form. At home, we have no such problem-the problem is that Robins has some reluctance to set the team up the same way on the road. Wycombe showed how to do it this week.

Let's except mediocre all the way to the end of the season then and be happy with a mid table position.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, is going to change in this team.
In fact the injuries and no strength in depth (again) will see results get worse from now on.
