Rugby is a great game to play but can be a little tedious to watch at times. Peaches and Cream you are welcome to support an exiled London team of course, but you must realise your a paying puppet of a club that has sold it's soul to try and be financially successful. Leaving the why we are doing that to one side, to move a club the distance your owners have is down right disrespectful to the fans that sustained it all those years it was based in London. Sporting allegiance is often passed down the generations and your club has acted like it has forgotten this in an attempt to make more money. Should you be a Coventry Wasp I genuinely pity you as your beloved club will move again if they need to and when and if that time comes you will have zero say in the matter.
American football openly moves clubs to where the money is and they can have big attendances to pay huge salaries. Your club are no better than this and that's shocking. Before you launch into some sort of anti CCFC response, we are well aware of the club's issues and to criticise CCFC does not justify your owners ideas on fan loyalty and opportunistic relocations.

Go to most of the England 6 nations games, it’s a fantastic atmosphere. Love the banter between the fans. One of the best sporting atmospheres I have been to is wales v England. Fans being mixed completely makes it.

this is from the CET in March:

"Speaking to Simon Gilbert about whether there was any hope of a new deal for Coventry City Football Club at the Ricoh Arena, Nick Eastwood said: “We have made our position clear that we can’t enter discussion with an organisation that is litigating against us in court."

This is a quote from Eastwood in the linked article:

"As everyone is aware, we made it a pre-requisite of talks that the owners would stop pursuing proceedings around the ownership of the Ricoh Arena. We understood the owners shared that desire based on the letter it sent to us."

maybe it's just semantics but if sisu agreed to stop proceedings against wasps then they did as requested and Eastwood moved the goalpost.

Not sure that’s really an issue. How many conferences are held on a weekend? The vast majority are in the week otherwise people wouldn’t go. I know what response my employer would get if he tried to send me to a conference at the weekend!

Also they’ve held events on the same day we’ve played and moved our matches as well.

If the Ricoh arena calender is anything to go by Saturday events aren't a big issue. Calender looks pretty empty

I have always supported Coventry teams often through blind loyalty, but I work mainly in London. Many of my friends are Wasps supporters who have supported the team since they were kids. ALL sympathize with our plight because their team went through the same situation. I'm afraid it's idiots like you that actually give Wasps the bad name. If you had read an earlier post I was born in High Wycombe and moved to Coventry after meeting my wife who is Coventry born and bred, I have been watching Wasp since I was a child with both my dad and grandad so them moving to Coventry was just lucky on my part

Come on mate that disingenuous. AFAIK Wasps entered into talks before they knew about the EC action.

Getting into semantics about who exactly is named or whether it’s a court action or not is just trying to avoid the point.

The indemnity clause is bollocks and the cause of the block, but it’s ridiculous to play dumb on this. Your case is strong enough, stick with that.

I don’t have the same emotional attachment to Coventry Rugby as I do the football club obviously but from watching and playing both sports regularly I think Rugby is the “better” sport. I work with a woman whose whole family are Wasps fans from London, they've not been to a single game since the Coventry move and said it doesn't really feel like their team anymore. This franchising crap screws over too many people for the sake of a few johnny come lately wankers.

And not only that, I'm sure the EFL would be sympathetic to fixture changes by 24 hrs either way to avoid any clashes with weekend conference business. It would be a minor inconvenience but not an obstacle to a return.

Heard some lovely news from a friend last night about Wasps being so hard up for cash that they were begging for a free 2nd ticket to a recent night with music tour promoters. Tickets cost £150 and they couldn't push it to a second one.

It's a tough game, the players are brave and get stuck in. We do see the occasional OTT tackle/elbow but in the main it's a sport where the player respect the ref and the fans respect each other. It's therefore a somewhat shameful act that the OP has spouted such bile, considering the above. I totally get he's from down that way so naturally will support wasps, and having them turn up on his door step is a real bonus. However, he should have a little empathy for other genuine fans who have been shat on and face 100mile trip for home games. Born in Cov, work and live in Brum...but I'd swap the convenience of St.Andrews for Cov in a heartbeart because it's for the greater good.

They're not OK actually. Rugby is slowly becoming a non contact sport too! Scrums are virtually non contested anymore, if you up end a player in a tackle you have to have control of him now, tackles above the shoulder get you in a lot of trouble (red card offence a lot of the time nowadays) and the use of studs in rucks is illegal. The tackler has to roll away or he is offside.

Is a massive misconception. I know plenty of people who were a reasonable standard at both. Being a Woodlands lad, sport was always high on the agenda and Cricket, Rugby and Football were played by all. Some overly excelled in 1 or the other and stuck to playing just that sport, but I could hold my own in all three, a bit of a jack of all trades - master of none

But I've won trophies playing all 3 sports over the years over numerous teams/cities, so I wouldn't say I was shit by any means

Sorry Pasty, my point was that rugby fans talk about how rugby is saintly compared to football, yet you get eye gouging, spear tackles etc. I didn't mean that they aren't condoned within the game. It's the 'holier than thou' attitude which doesn't sit right.

Always amazes me how many of those wasps sympathisers among our support couldn't give 2 fucks about people like the supporters you describe but want the whole football world to feel sorry for the plight of our club. Wankers.
