Linked with the Blues. Obviously hope that doesn’t happen, but set me thinking just how good someone like that would be for us.

Clearly not our model being 31 in September, and would be ridiculous wages, but imo worth breaking the structure for. £100k per week is £10m over two years, but he’s a beast in the Championship and with how we set up, he’d get so many chances. I genuinely believe that if we do have funds to spend, then he would give us a chance of firing into the automatics.

If people think Bassette or Kitching have personality traits that haven’t always fitted in with the higher ups at the club then they would see a whole new world w Mitrovic.

Agree although i think more inclined to put up with it if they deliver. In Bassette's case I think hd believes he's already made it without the numbers to back it up.

He’s not signing for them either. But that wouldn’t make it a realistic target for us if he was, they are able to pay much higher wages than us.

It's quite clear (if you're not trying to be a bellend). I'm saying whilst there is no chance or even a rumour of this, it's the profile of player that I think we need of we have genuine promotion ambitions. We're not in the market to buy a special player, so a young potential talent (ala Villa had with Abrahams when promoted) or an experienced quality loan (mitrovic fired Fulham to promotion twice from this same league) are the levels you need.

We can argue all day about whether Hughes or Doyle are better than Thomas or Kitching, but it's a 25 goal a season striker required that pushes us above where we are currently.

In seriousness, the Birmingham link sounds like drivel and even if it wasn't, we're a very different club to them and I don't think the 'break all financial rules going and hope to get promoted before you get caught' is a model we should look to emulate.
