All-in-all, I give my predictions and baby update match thread a 10 out of 10. (See off topic thread PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENT)

The New family of 3 is happy, healthy, and discharged after a couple of days at hospital.

Just got round to watching the replay without seeing the scoreline ahead of time. She was sleeping on my chest for the third goal, had to contain myself mightily.
It was an entertaining, hi octane game altogether, surprised I foretold an OG, thrilled for Simms, even more surprised for Liam K.

Bring on the next victim, we should have no fear.

Congrats man!

I met this little bundle of cells today, they might only know Premier League CCFC (due next June) :O

Got naming rights if it’s a boy but already had Frank, Victor, Gustavo and Haji vetoed :(

Much congratulations to you and your wife!

Start an Off Topic thread so we all can bask in your journey.

My own wife ceded naming rights to me for some strange reason (also with veto power). She was thrilled with the girl name but only tolerated my choice of boy name. We found out the baby set by accident through bloodworm, so for us saved months of anxiety.

Sadly I am exiled from OT by choice. We’ve got another 8 weeks until we know the sex then the naming gets serious.

It wasn't even the best goal of the night!
Go check out Stoke's goals from Tuesday!
Oh, really?

I thought that two of the goals were reported as cross shots, as in they were meant to be crosses, but ended up in the net.

I'm sure that's how the Beeb reported them. Were they not then?

Just found the article..

Does it matter?
They looked amazing.

Thomas said afterwards that he meant it, but I'd of said that too tbf 🤣🤣🤣

Do you think Tommy conways chance was a good chance? How good exactly? If a player had that chance 10 times from that same position, how many times do you think would result in a goal on average?

If you cant get your head around that being useful analysis you just dont have the mental capacity unfortunately

To go off topic slightly, watched the hilights last night, I think Rushworth does really well with the Conway chance.
Get close enough to him that he can't dink it over him do he has to go high, and he goes very high!

It really isn't is it? It correlates pretty well with end league position. The top 6 in the league in the Championship last season were all in the top 9 in the xG table, with 5 of the top 6 in the top 6 slots.

It's a useful metric over a long period.

But using it in small sample periods can be misleading. A certain few on here will treat it as gospel after a handful of games, or even one game, without actually looking at the wider picture.

In that regard particularly it needs wider context applied to it. For instance, Southampton early this season had a high xG - with it claiming they should be 4th in the table under Still - but if anything their league position was continually getting worse.

There were people claiming they were almost guaranteed under Still to improve because of their said xG yet it was fairly obvious that there were wider issues and any real improvement was only likely to happen if a managerial change was made.

But yeah, on the whole xG is very good for cutting through the noise and spotting who’s genuinely good and who just lucky over a few weeks.

I have just been watching a post match analysis on YouTube of Tuesday's game and when I look at the Conway miss in the second half from behind the goal, I reckon Rushworth gets a slight hand to it to balloon it over. What an absolute great save if he did

Conway's reaction would suggest it was a miss. And I don't think any other player appealed for a corner. As Clint van damme days above, Rushworth forced him into going high.

Was reading Adi’s post game comments and he’s really a class act I must say. Gives credit where it’s due. Stark contrast to Robins’ views the other day after the Stoke match which rubbed us the wrong way. Would love to have Adi back if he’s interested and join our ex-Chelsea coaching contingent.
