The prize of being 10 points clear of them will no doubt spur the lads on

I think anyone with more than 1200 points that isn't going to this game deserves a few hundred deducting, tbh.

There’s a lot of teams in false positions. Hull, PNE, Stoke, Boro and Bristol are all a lot higher than they should be.

Teams like Ipswich, Southampton, Blues, Watford and Blackburn are all massively underperforming. Of all those teams, you’d expect Ipswich, Southampton and Blues to finish in the Top 6. Watford losing 4 players to AFCON will derail them imo and Blackburn’s home record is just too bad right now to mount a serious challenge. Over time, it evens itself out and after 46 games the xG table and actual table looks similar. Even when we were close to the relegation zone last season, being 2nd in the xG table suggested we could march up the table to finish in the Top 6.

We’ve been a lot better than the rest of the teams and so far been statistically dominant and only Ipswich are close.
Agreed but, Bristol were doing really well then got a lot of crucial injuries. When all their players are fit, I expect them to be thereabouts.
Regarding the Boro match, I expect a repeat of Stoke in terms of approach. They have some very good players, but so do we.
They won their last home match, but have dropped off a little lately. Hope Adi's knowledge of us doesn't tip the balance. Well it didn't for Robins.
Way too early for Rudi to start. Possible 20 mins.

Why would any one accept dropping 2 points?

It makes zero sense.

We are the best side in this division, we are going for automatic promotion, so why accept dropping points before the game has even kicked off? That is total fucking madness.

When we were 2-0 down yesterday im sure many would of taken a point. Thankfully Lampard wasnt one of them, so why are you so defeatist?

You make champions by having a champions mentality. All this "musnt lose" or "take a point" bollocks is the talk of losers and cowards.

Think like a winner if you want to be a winner.
As the Northern Soul tune goes, "A winner never quits and a quitter never wins".

Who knows, but if Doug and Frank have changed the mentality inside the club, why cant it be changed in the stands!

When has a positive mental outlook been a bad thing?
Come on moaners from the Highfield Rd Kop must be somewhere in the CBS,

It was a bit of a wake up call for Charlton, and some of their defending was awful, but you have to say they have started the season really well, if they had won yesterday they would of been in the top 6, which is amazing considering they've only just come from league 1.

And it shows how even much of this League is. Apart from us and Middlesbrough, every one is beating each other. (Long may that continue)
Explained before, Charlton had a lot of key injuries against Southampton, especially at the back, and a Southampton loan player who was ineligible. Lets hope they are not fit for us.

Yeah who scores the own goal then?
How's the good lady doing couple of weeks closer?

Due date less than 2 weeks away!
Already starting to dilate! I doubt she lasts 2 more weeks honestly. We'll soon have a new Sky Blue to add to the army. I'll give more update on the Off Topic thread as soon as I can.

I think a draw would be a good result. I said the same going into Millwall, then I said the same going into Portsmouth, then again for Stoke...the point being that Lampard isn't going for a draw in any fixture this season.

So taking the above into account...a draw would be a good result.

Away from home against 2nd in the league. A point would be a good result.

A win would be incredible and put another stamp on our promotion credentials.

@fatso - I think this might be Matt Grimes, sounds to me like he’s settling for a point! Have a word!

That would explain their piss poor defending then.

Bristol will be a tough match but it’s a game we should winning. The only games where you’d ’take a draw’ would be the away games v Ipswich and Southampton. Ipswich will be a tough game and they may overtake us in the xG table (not that relevant) and at home, they don’t lose often.

If lose both Ipswich games in December, they’ll probably win the league.

Think it's a pity that both games come before we get a chance to bolster the squad and take them on with a more evenly matched squad depth. The league title isn't getting decided in December in any case and Ipswich have still got to keep collecting points in the mean time including the rematch with Blackburn.

It isn’t, but on the flip side, if we get 4+ points v Ipswich, I think we’ll win the league. Right now, they are our main rivals, statistically and in the table they’re most likely to be next promoted.

If we continue our form into December, we’re not gonna get caught up for 2nd realistically. There’s 24 points between now and the New Year, continuing 2.3 PPG takes us to 55 points, even 1.6 PPG takes us to 50 points.
