Can count on one hand the number of good games he’s had at this level.

He was poor today without a doubt, but don't forget we were let down by Hamer giving the ball away unnecessarily, we started with 5 defenders and 4 midfielders, but still Norwich walked through us with ease.
Hamer has been a liability so far this season, and I've no fucking idea what Allen offers us.

He has honestly never been that great.

In the summer I really wanted to see us look to upgrade at least two of Hyam / Rose / Fadz with permanent signings.

I know I’ll get shouted down but this team so misses a Doyle it’s untrue. We did well 18 months ago when Matty James took that kind of role, Kelly nearly did it but is injured to pension now.

I hate the idea of signing 30+ year olds, but we most certainly need a grown up in the centre right now.

Was brilliant for us in League 1. Has never got going in the Championship and never looked reliable at this level.

He's a liability, costs us goals every times he plays and we don't look as fluent with him in the side. Need to get rid tbh.

Hyam and McFadz were both better than Rose in League 1

The one attribute he has is pace, but days like today when we're sitting back, his other deficiencies are even more exposed.

Let's be honest, the defence has been pretty shite for most of 2022. Even with Hyam, JCS and Maatsen, we were leaking goals.

It could be something deeper than individuals.

Yep, did ask in another thread who’s responsible for the defensive coaching

They all seem clueless. The line is either too high or too deep. Not strong enough in the tackle.

Norwich today got stuck right in, we lose out in our own tackles.

Glad you're here Adge, what do you think of the officiating in the past couple of games? For me not biased, just really bad and had two shocking assistants on our side too that have made the job even harder. Just interested to hear another refs view.

We’ve let in 9 goals in our last 3 away games. Rose is the poorest CB we have but the problem is Panzo & Doyle are both left footed. So we’d either have to play one out of position or move a Fadz over to the right and stick Panzo in the middle.

Or play 4 at the back. We're crap St defending anyway so may aswell have more bodies in other areas

We need some dynamism in midfield. A strong runner who can carry the ball. Allen is sadly not good enough. Converting Waghorn - he doesn't have the legs or pace. If young Doyle can settle in then Panzo could go in and help Sheaf and hamer in the absence of Kelly?

At least if we had a young Doyle, he'd actually go at the ref.

It's comical how soft we are. Allen got nailed just after the strange decision to disallow our goal and not one player went towards the referee. We need to wake up and join in with these tactics.

He's just not up to standard sadly, far from it. Knocks a nice 40 yard pass every now and then and is a threat from corners but he's piss poor defensively an absolute liability. It's a shame because he's well built and pretty quick too.

It's mad how defence was the main area we needed to improve over the summer and somehow it's ended up even weaker.

They are really trying to have an overhaul at the top level-Mike Riley and his “jobs for the boys” mentality has been ousted and Howard Webb is now in the chair. Trouble is it will take years for standards to improve and maybe filter down.
In regards to your point, yes, they haven’t been great but the offside goal today from what I’ve seen (only on the highlights) was the right call. Doesn’t matter how long the decision takes between the 2 officials as long as the correct decision is made.
As a side note at my level it’s the worst it’s ever been in terms of numbers (not ability) as the Birmingham County FA are doing a pilot this year and officials are now voting with their feet (including myself). But that in itself is another discussion.

I agree. The James signing saved us from relegation that season and was such an astute bit of business. We need another, probably short term injection of experience.

Thoughts on the Hull prick going down in the opposite corner of the pitch to where the ball was, ref stopping play, player immediately jumping to his feet showing he had ‘simulated’ but no action taken?

He's one of several who now get regular starts yet wouldn't even make the squad in other Championship sides.

Our squad is woefully short on quality.

We can blame MR and players as much as we want, question tactics and speculate on rumours but one thing we can all agree on is this squad is lacking in quality and depth having had a piss poor transfer window arguably the team is weaker by a mile than last season.

there is only one party to blame for that and its our owners and their total lack of support for improving this team and pushing forward. Sisu seem to be happy for us to languish in league 1
