shmmeee - not sure why you or anybody else goes on about SISU breaking the lease. There was clear intent from ACL (and by extension the council) to break the lease anyway. They had applied to put the club into administration themselves.

He should know more than most about this anyway.

I bet that's another fact that he "didn't know".

Not sure what this has to do with anything sorry. Grendel was saying the lease reverts to us, I asked if he meant the one we broke (and we did break even if it was going to break anyway), he accused me of being an elderly alcoholic it seems.

I’m only talking about going forward.

It reverts back to the council - ccfc have never owned the lease ACL own it - this is like pulling teeth

Currently? The state aid complaint. I know I know we don’t think it can be stopped. But clearly Wasps do so it’s worth a try right? Going forward it would be appeals to that case and any other legal avenues they might have to try and reverse Wasps’ purchase of the Ricoh.

I can see the argument that “well they’re allowed their rights” and that they are, except it’s currently blocking us from having even a temporary home and frankly when it comes down to it I care more about CCFC than Joy Seppalas legal rights. I don’t think the case has merit and she should just take the L and move on.

The indemnity is only an issue because Wasps want the legals gone. It’s clearly preposterous and a last ditch attempt to inoculate themselves against anything that comes from the complaint.

So far as I see it the conversation has gone

Sisu: We have dropped all legals against Wasps as agreed

Wasps: Cool let’s talk. Hold up a second you’ve complained to the EC!!

S: *trollface.jpg* but that’s against the council not Wasps lololooolol

W: Yeah that’s bullshit. Withdraw it.

S: We can’t.

W: then make it so we won’t be impacted and then you’ll be incentivised your find a way to drop it

S: No

*talks end we move to Brum*

S: NDA

W: NDA

S: Indemnity!

W: NDA (but unofficially though Linnell/Trust meetings: if Sisu asked for it to be forgotten that’d help)

S: No

SBT: Grrrrr obviously it can’t be dropped!

Me: ?? Got to be worth a try though surely? I mean if we are making requests of the owners as a fans group, shouldn’t we be asking them to try everything?

SBT: your friends and family are cunts and you’ve got an agenda and you sound like this bloke on Twitter and here’s a windmill GIF

Me: ?? O....K....

You've missed the bit where Eastwood said it wasn't the EU complaint that caused the talks to break down

And if you take anything that Linnell says seriously then there is no hope for you mate as he has already flip flopped about 17 times on it all. If wasps came out directly and said it could be dropped then that would be news worthy but I'm sorry I don't believe a word that Linnell or the trust say about things

You do realise the EC isn't just one person sat at a desk you can ring up and have a chat to don't you?

To deal with the EC you have to use their formal processes which are all detailed and freely available for the public to examine on their website.

Which process outlined on there do you suggest Sepalla follows to get the EC to 'forget' about the complaint?

Do you plan to at least ask Wasps about the “forget the case” thing? Please? Even if you think it’s bollocks. It’s the only straw to grasp in this other than asking them to accept Sisus legal action and let us back anyway. Which is hoping the hedge fund that owns them has a heart who’s strings we can pull on.

The one that Linnell said about, the week after he said there was no indemnity it seems.

Delusional, desperate nonsense.

Yes, thought that myself when I hear "We can build x with provision for expansion", it's all in the footings, from the Ricoh experience we know full well how much extensive earthworks add to the final build cost.

I reckon we'd be looking at least £45m including acquisition of the land tbh.

yes thats probably a better estimate fp

Inflation since 2007 alone would put the price up on the Shrewsbury stadium by 139% to 20.5m

Ironic really, the pair of them have no issues making things up about me to try and discredit me personally or this site.

Yet both have them only seem to know half a story judging by the arguments they put forward.

As it turns out, so many of the "You love SISU" types have ended up having an agenda for themselves when it comes down to it.

I don’t know. I’m not Wasps. It’s their request. Clearly they’ve made it for a reason. I imagine they have better advice than a bunch of random on a forum.

Why are you so violently against trying something? That’s what I don’t get? Why shouldn’t we try everything?

What’s the cost to trying that you are so desperate to avoid?

Can you just explain , in full sentences please, why if the EU find that something in EU law says that the price paid was wrong, it naturally follows that Wasps go bust. Surely the council as freeholders have set the price of the rent and the terms of the lease...if they have got this wrong it is their error and they foot any bill to the tax payers. Am I missing something really obvious?

Where have they made this request?

You do realise you are desperately hanging on to something Linnell said? Again, he also tried to say there was no indemnity and I would bet he said CCFC don't want the indemnity mentioned.

The EU action is designed to restore the market to where it was prior to intervention. The whole Wasps go bust and Jimmy Hill comes back to life and teabags every Sunderland supporter stuff is just fan fic.

This brought to you by the same people that were this confident that the JR would be a shoe in for Sisu and expose the evil council who had done us wrong and they’d be forced to hand us the Ricoh and Ann Lucas would be put in stocks outside. It’s delusional.

Yep, it seems to have disappeared from the net now but the hierachy of lease agreements was in that construction report:

It is referred to here: https://coventryobserver.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Council-HoT_Signed_2Aug12.pdf

The head lease is between CCC and Coventry North Regeneration Limited (a wholly owned Council company). They assigned it to ACL(2006) which is now controlled by Wasps. Obviously if Wasps fail the lease reverts back to CNGR.

How about shmmeee tells us about when his old man was meeting with Haskell and ACL about the plan to put CCFC into admin to take them over on the promise of being on the board and fan ownership? Surely they would have known that the lease would be broken at that point?

Get angry at all of us if you want, I doubt any of us have been involved in that because we believed we might get some self-importance. You go on about being mates with SISU when nobody is.

Is the anger just because you have seen first hand when people are snidey and up to no good with their mates for their own good and assume everybody else is?

Fuck off you little snake. The people you are going at on here are just everyday normal city fans, you keep trying to make things up to discredit but have a look closer to home.

Im fine. I used to teach so I can handle 30 arseholes having a go at me.

But if people insult me, I’ll insult them back. If people ask a question, I’ll answer it. I notice no one can actually answer the points I raise so it’s all family members and concern trolling now but that’s fine too.

I know where I stand and I’m happy with it. Same as always. One day maybe one of you will have a rational argument laid out that I can get behind. But today is not that day so here I am. Same place I’ve always been.

Yeah, I'll certainly ask how they see the process and note that Sisu believe it can't be withdrawn (and that has always been my understanding on the process too, to be fair - I think the Telegraph also covered it at some point?).

If anyone knows anyone with a good knowledge of EU state aid law, that would be really helpful too. Would be good to get an independent opinion.

You haven’t answered questions

1 if the owners ask the Eu to drop the complaint where is the procedure and are there potential implications?

2 If ACL goes into administration the lease returns to the council with ccfc as sub tenants does it not?

Whatever happened to Linnells expert? Can he put you in touch? Did he ever get back to Pete about this?

Ive read the same Telegraph article and it does seem the case but clearly Wasps believe it’s not. Frankly I’d back the council to have access to decent advice on this stuff, better than most, and Wasps to be talking to them. So if they think that’s the case there must be a reason for it.
