The coffee comment was a joke clearly but having lived in it for a large part of my life I find it a depressing, concrete reminder I guff disaster that is 60's architecture.

I will assess my life as a personal failure of I do not move a considerable distance away before my demise.

Before you get all hissy with me this does not mean I want the team to play away from coventry. I don't I want them back and then that would be one thing I like about coventry.

Well I hope you get your wish very soon we will all be the richer for it. Anyway with that I'm now going to join the majority of City fans who have never even heard of this site and live in this fair city. I'll leave the arguments etc to the few of you who are left:wave:

Again if they did spend the Wilson money this would be a smack in the mouth for Kcic and nopm surely? If they do no it means they need this to use to subvent losses. Must be what you want while still at sixfields surely?

Are we allowed to use that same "logic" to say that if you're paying to go into sixfields that means that you want the club to make sixfields it's permanent home?

you realise that "free" isn't a quality of player? if we had never left the ricoh we would be signing players of much greater quality and that were much less of a risk even if we weren't paying a transfer fee for them.

So your argument is; we'd have first pick of those players nobody else wants?

Off the top of my head I can immediately think of 2 clubs that achieved promotion to the premiership by signing loan players.

What percentage of loan players make up an average league 1 team do you think?

What genuinely annoys me in here is that people like you whine about if but so not attend sixfields. Surely this is what you want and expect - a poorer squad if loans and free transfers due to the effect of the boycott.

No, SISU made unequivocal statements that they would fund the lost revenues as a function of the move; both to the FL and the supporters. Are you now saying they won't fund what they promised; and lower incomes need to be matched by a lower squad expenditure and player sales? As that clearly wasn't what was promised

yes I really believe we would be much better off, there are a large number of players that go on a free, Grendel even made a post about how it was the majority in our league, so yes being one of the most attractive clubs to come to in the league and being able to pay decent wages would be massively preferable to now where we are one of the least attractive clubs in the league and paying low wages.

Are we offering low wages, do you know that? Weren't Swanson and O'Brien both offered contracts at Championship clubs?
I don't believe we are perceived as one of the least attractive clubs. The lure of the Ricoh may be just around the corner with most people, potential players included, believing we will return. And Coventry is still a big name, a sleeping giant. People still associate the name with the Prem.

McQuoid is another option for us up top which I think we will need, good signing IMO, still need another one plus introducing James Maddison into the fold.

Do you think Freddie Eastwood is 1.4 million times the player Leon Clarke was.

I have to say I have my doubts.

I have my doubts about your maths

A more relevant question would wages, transfer fee is more about how much the club want to keep a player rather than their ability.

Well Clarke would have to cost £1 for the maths to work. Eastwood was on a reported £10,000 a week there is no argument that can support noggins comment actually.

Yeah I'm being facietous (surprise).

As you've said yourself, there's no logic to wages or fees, all about what people can get at the time.

Wilson for example probably had his minimum price set by our needs for the coming season as much as any tangible quality.

which of my comments is there no argument to support, because like usual you seem to be making up things that people haven't said and arguing against them. Don't paraphrase my comment that you disagree with because you are completely incapable of doing this accurately, go and quote it.

I posted that if we were still at the Ricoh I think we'd mostly be signing players on frees but that they would be of a greater quality of player than the ones we are able to sign at sixfields and you've gone off on some nonsensical rant about transfer fees.

Are we honestly counting this as a good signing??? Come on the lads record is bloody terrible at every club he's been at and we're honestly meant to be excited?

I hope the comments come back to bite me on the arse but I suspect he'll score a couple early on and then disappear just like he has at all the other clubs.

He made 34 appearances in Bournemouth's promotion season (probably not all up front) so he must have something about him. He gives us another option as well so I'll reserve judgement. Hope he surprises a few people.

He made 34 appearances in their promotion season from league two and didn't hit double figures, at our current level he didn't feature, like I said I hope he proves me wrong but my gut feeling is he won't

McQuoid is a winger aswell, which may explain his poor goalscoring reord.

McGoldricks record compared to this guy was way better as was Clarke's, don't forget we signed Clarke after he had been scoring for Swindon. That said I hope he proves me wrong and the usual people can dig up these posts to rubbish any future points I make in the future.

A) The lad although called a striker, has played most of his games on the wing

B) Clarke was scoring goals for Scunny

Baker was a winger and still found the back of the net at this level and below, look my main problem is I don't see the goals we have lost been replaced with any of the new signings apart from tudgay.

McQuoid's 34 appearance were in the League 1 promotion season for Bournemouth. In his previous season in League 1 for Bournemouth (admittedly 4 years ago) he scored 9 in 17 games. I admit I am also fearful about our lack of goals but McQuoid has shown ability in the past so lets not right him off straight away.

Fair point the 34 were in league one and nine goals ain't bad for a winger things are looking up after all.........nah scrap that this thread has got far to football based he loves fisher and Sisu are are to blame I heard on the grape vine they killed Bambi's mum.

Seriously I hope he turns out to be Pele but I still think we are seriously short on quality in front of goal and I don't think this lad is the answer.

No but he isn't confirmed just et though seems 99% sure. Also seems sp wants another striker and a good one at that. Mcquiod is a stop gap til January where as higdon is still available and a ready made Wilson replacement. Go get him.

Oh and that cm from brentford the French beast mix that with a Ricoh return shaken and not stirred and with those new signings and Ricoh return a top 6 is a possibility genuinely IMO.
