McGoldrick: City's best loan signing? (1 Viewer)

The irony is the more goals he scores the more his value increases and the more clubs become interested.

Championship sides can easily outbid us and can easily offer him higher wages. Over 3 years they can easily offer a contract worth half a million more than we can.

We could offer him more mobey in a contract where his wage goes up if we get promoted.....half a mill bonus if his goals got us promoted

without doubt the best loan signing,
we have little to compare it to though,
purely because loan signings are a modern phenomena,
whether SISU fork out dosh is dependant upon their ambition level,
which, so far, has been abysmal,
i hope, the penny might have finally dropped,

We could but that is not gaurenteed. Whichever way we cut it it is very unlikely we as a League One club probably already at its 65% wage maximum can outbid any championship club.

The only chance is if we can off load significant earners like McSheffrey and also try and get rid of non achievers like McDonald for a fee.
Hmmm...

That was me and he said he loves working for robins , love playing week in week out and if clubs agreed he would be happy to stay. It's down to the clubs. I think the fact he is playing games is our hope. Can we afford him tho??

Lets calm down a little, it is only League 1, yes that's the league we're in but a league of low standard so to even compare to our legends is laughable, I'd say we should be comparing to King and Juke, King has the edge IMO because we're in a higher league, weaker team whereas McG is in a better side of L1. I like Juke but McG just edges it.

I personally think we need to sign him whatever evaluation forest have, even if it means doing a Swindon and being put into a temporary transfer embargo. Best striker in L1.

it seems to me he wants to stay, i hope we keep him, sisu seem to be turning the corner, maybe they have now learnt they need to speculate to accumulate?

not silly money but hopefully they cans tump up 200-300k,cos 25-30 goals might get us promoted

Steven Warnock was the best loan signing i can remeber

Always my favourite loanee. He gave everything for the club while he was here and deserved a good bit of success when he returned to Liverpool. A great player!

Big test for Waggot & Fisher this one - obviously he HAS to stay - we have in here now and he's enjoying himself so that's in our favour - BUT it's all going to go down to how badly they want to upset the 'do it all on a tight budget plan' they are obviously following - chance to redeem themselves here - IF he stays I'll be amazed but will finally have some respect for these two as I know this will go against the grain with SISU - it's going to take a fair chunk of money to get him - Have they got the balls???

I think his form is even better than Dublin's was. Goldie needs to stay if we're gonna get to the Championship and then back to the PL. Hey, if Norwich and Southampton can do it, why not us?

the only way hes staying at Cov after jan. is if someone breaks his leg in training.....

....and then chains him to the physio table....

I can't see him staying. If we are continuing our climb up the table then a promotion push might tempt him but I can see a bidding war in January and we cannot compete.

Easily the best, I have a feeling coventry might be able to get him to stay...

Warnock was a good loan deal, quality player.
