Give me 50k a week and I'd kiss the Villa badge in front of the Holte End every week. I'm sure he's really missing playing for us.

You'd think Hamer was the first player to ever leave us.

Even if he doesn't like in Sheffield there's no reason why he'd want to come back. If anything he'd want to move to a better PL club rather than come back here.

He looks like he has an ambition to be the new Thomas Brolin

He's too good for a bottom end championship side.

Ridiculous obsession aside, maybe there are some comparisons between Gus at Sheff Utd, and our new players - such as Wright? Players don't automatically walk into teams and have a great time, we know Hamer's a great player but looks as though he's going to need some time there to adjust and reach his potential, no reason why it wouldn't be the same for the likes of Wright and Simms.

Is it? Hamer HAS walked into the side and hit the ground the running....2 goals from 5 starts in a shit team in a top league......

I'm struggling to see the comparisons to be honest

Wright has one goal/one assist from equivalent 4 games. Yes, Hamer's not a forward but was always a goalscorer. He had a terrible game versus Newcastle, but it's one of those things - like Wright having a terrible game last time out.

Yes several threads on an ex player is pretty dull

Our most successful player to leave the club over a sustained period is Callum Wilson by a country mile and he’s from Coventry. Yet he hardly gets mentioned.

Wilson has about 30 more PL appearances at the moment but give it a couple of years and Maddison will comfortably have had the better career.

You could argue that Dublin could be there, he practically recreated his career with us. And he's been pretty successful since. Well, apart from that home improvement show

I'm interested to know why you want to know my age? Let's just say I watched my first City game in 1958.
