Reda Johnson had a better scoring rate for us than Biamou I'd think.

Didn’t Reda have a set-to with Pressley which preceded the loss of the dressing room and subsequent downturn?

(Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?)

If so, not really a legend

But he did score at a better rate than one of our most legendary strikers so swings and roundabouts.

Demeans the day? It’s a corporate knees-up for ex-players, not a memorial service. Don’t think we’re meant to be watching it teary-eyed from the stands, saluting in full Talbot kit and a sky blue beret.

Who? Waghorn with his 1 open play goal in 38 games?

Dabo had a better own-goal rate.

Kevin Kyle had a better rate and was cheaper.

Waghorn. Nice fella.

Wherever Badlan ends up next he should suffer him.

As in failed a piss-test or is this a piss-take?

He’s a big unit but doesn’t look like a ‘roid guy (you can usually tell straight away by the size of the traps, I see them in the gym but you can also tell which boxers and sprinters. Laugh if you like - it’s just the way it is. Holyfield had traps that nearly reached his ears (what was left of them) Ben Johnson etc. )

So if it wasn’t performance enhancing it was the other way?

Fucking rubbish. I think you're getting caught up with the "Legends' Day" label rather than 'former players', which is what it should be. Mx scored some brilliant goals, gave his all, and scored some important goals too; FA Cup winner at MKD, the first goal at Notts County. I get people have some kind of anti-Biamou bias, but to say he was "fucking shit" is fucking shit.

There isn’t an anti-Biamou bias - he was massively overrated by a large section of the fanbase. His career since leaving us says it all.

Totally disagree. He wasn't "massively overrated", he was just really liked by a large section of the fanbase - You said it yourself, a LARGE section. He wasn't the most skilful, he wasn't the greatest or the fastest, but he scored some fantastic goals, gave his all and seemed to genuinely love the club. Not sure why a few - a FEW - have an issue with that and spend their time shouting "He was shit! He was shit!" from the rooftops. You're not going to change the minds of those who disagree. Out of all the "legends" on Saturday, he got the loudest applause, the warmest welcome and Singers Corner was chanting his name. It would have made your blood boil.

So what if he's not at Barcelona or Man City or ripping up PL defences week after week. He played for us, scored some great and some important goals and then he left. Same as a hundred other players we've had throughout the years. The obsession with him is a bit weird.

I guess I missed the part of legends day where we celebrate former players' careers 'after' they leave the club

Id say the one with the obsession is yourself. Why are some fans completely in awe of bang average players? Its mind boggling

Max in his late 20’s was good for us in L2 and L1. He scored some important goals and from my view did a decent job.

This is at a time when the likes of Walker (I think) saw us as beneath him and turned us down.

So, who in L2 would have joined us and done a better job?

He’s 32 now and nowhere near the standard of an upper champ team.

The one thing he did do was put in some real effort on and off the pitch and for that we should be grateful.

“Legend” is a bit far but you can tell the personality of the sad c***s that just slag him.

Nice fella. Did his best. Helped us out of the pit of L2 for little wages.

I’d take his contribution as to where we are now over loads of others.

Weird attitude this. He scored a number of important goals for us, including in the Championship, and also a number of screamers. He also committed himself to the club at its lowest point for decades at a time when we were used to collecting half arsed players.

Yes there were a few daft comments about ‘best athlete at the club’ and ‘best shooting technique at the club’, and he wasn’t good enough for this league. But he did make a valuable contribution over a period of years.

tbf, I remember waiting an eternity for him to score his first goal for us in league 2, so I'd suggest quite a lot!

However he redeemed himself with a couple of crackers, a vital playoff goal, and a contribution at a higher level that included helping us stay in this league first season, so I'm quite happy for him to wave to a few fans one day a year.

I remember the dark days of league 2. Exeter away . He couldn't hit a cows arse that day and was substituted by Ponticelli, who was remotely better. Now there's a benchmark

He wasn't brilliant but scored some important goals for us in the lower leagues. How important was that goal vs Notts County by the way?

His was definitely was not a Championship player. But his five goals in the league (Walker was top goal scorer with just seven) were important in us staying up surely?
