He will ultimately rely on service which is the main thing I worry about with us. I’d be delighted if he got 15+ goals but would be surprised.

Totally disagree. Service will be fine. Especially with Allen in the team as well.

They have Darren Ferguson as manager he could fall out with himself.

I read an article about him on the BBC earlier, and when he was starting out he was at Scunny. They offered him a deal, but he chose to reject it and drop down to non-league because he just wanted to play every week. That's an attitude that has served him well, and part of the reason he left Peterborough if reports are to be believed.

Jobello should get enough crosses in for him to get that many (plus Allen looks like he can thread a pass)

And we haven’t really seen what Kastaneer can provide also. Well, I haven’t!

If you think back, we sign McNulty who needed to prove himself, and did we sold him and replaced him with potential with Chaplin although he wasn't a bad replacement, he had potential to reach McNultys heights but in a higher division. we have sold him and replaced him with a proven league 1 striker probably at the start of his prime.... He's a fantastic signing and will help his do something this season!

He was terrific tonight. Link up play was great. Tidy pen. Could (should?) have scored the other chance at 2-1?
Looks a top signing for me.

No doubt in my mind he’s a better player than McNulty he’s got a lot more to his game great signing

I like him and think he will be a good player for us and will score goals. However, Did he pull out of a couple of challenges tonight? First one could have been a clever decision as I think he would have clashed heads with the Portsmouth player. The second one though, in the second half, I felt he could have put in a tackle but seemed to hold back.

I think he pretty much forced a move as he wanted to play week in week out and Peterborough had bought Eisa and Toney.

Watching his first interview when he joined he pretty much said the exact thing but changed his wording half way through which I thought was quite respectful. His movement also offers a new dimension to our attacking. For Shipleys gosl at the weekend he pulled out wide, linked up with Jobello amd the two players in the box for the cross were Shipley and Westbrook I think. Allen potentially will thrive from his play, seems like he's still not 100% with his finishing but if that clicks I think we've got a player that will make a real difference

Godden was immense tonight largely playing the loan striker role, worked his balls off from first to last minute a real handful for the Pompey defence. What a signing he’s proving to be.

But he’s not a loan striker, we’ve got him on a permanent deal.

He looks to be an intelligent striker, always moving the defender around, body in the way just before the ball comes, nudges here and there but subtly done without the free kicks and head up, maybe not intelligent, just the basics for a striker. Maybe the others should watch and learn.
Reminds me of Danny Rose who Robins wanted before, similar style and also good in the air for his size.

Could be a snip at £750,000

Agreed. Makes good runs, works hard, hassles defenders, decent in the air and looking at his record can finish !

I have to be honest, I was a bit unsure when we signed him as he’s probably a year or two older than we’d usually go for but looks like he could become a bit of a cult hero

Shame Ponti not here to learn from him. Similar build and pace-needs to look at how Godden applies himself on pitch as the role Godden has is the way forward for Ponti.

Godden is class. He had one chance today and scored, did it against Oxford too.

Toney and Eisa must be some players to be ahead of him

An excellent signing, glad we have him rather than Chaplin and I was someone who wasn’t keen on letting Chaplin go.

Quality. Just put the ball near him and goals happen. Can’t believe Peterborough let him go.
