The boy needs to play (I hope). We need urgent cover for Reda, even if the injury's not so bad. Time for MM to phone Everton incessantly.

Even if Matthew Pennington sounds like an extra from Downton Abbey.

Really surprised MP hasn't gone out on loan yet. Championship clubs should be queuing up for him in my opinion.

Would be a fantastic replacement for an injured Reda, I did notice that he's not been in any of Everton's squads for both league and cup games.

He started for Everton against Barnsley in the cup.....

You are correct, has he been injured since? As he wasn't in the squad in the cup game against Reading and hasn't been in the league squad at all recently.

I think when fit he is around the first team squad. Was he in their 25 man first team squad, which will have been recently submitted.

Interesting just looking at the Prem squads. As well as the nominated 25, Chelsea have another 65 players in the U21 squad - 90 players in total, utter madness.......

Does that include the 30 odd they have out on loan as well.

I read that Chelsea have 33 players out on loan all across Europe, so they will be no slouches. Needs sorting by UEFA. There should be a maximum amount of loans i would say about half a dozen and none should be loaned to any club playing in the same competition either.

totally agree, this will limit clubs like Chelsea snapping up young talent and wasting them. They would be better off playing at a lower league side and shining. They can then buy them for a decent sum of money

Perhaps a soon to be new FIFA organisation will look at it. They will want to be seen as whiter than white. Even loans between clubs in the same division should not be allowed. Can't be right that an Arsenal player can play for lets say Stoke against Tottenham but not against Arsenal

For a start they should ban loan fees and make the parent club pay 100% of the wages. Lets get back to a system where loans are actually being used for the benefit of players rather than the top clubs buying up all the youngsters on the cheap and then making money off them loaning them out.

How many of these loan players we've had over over the years from 'top' clubs have gone on to make a significant number of appearances for their team?

I can only think of Henderson and Warnock.

Correct it can change the whole league, loans should only be allowed downwards.
