Some people take too much notice of what supporters say for the club a player is leaving. They made out they were happy he was leaving as he stifled their attacking play with sideways and backwards passing. The surprise is that some people are surprised how good he is. You only have to have watched one of the games he’s played against us in the last 5 years to see that he’s one of the best midfielders in the championship. No surprise he’s doing it for us too.
The quick piercing passes mainly to emc were stunningSome people take too much notice of what supporters say for the club a player is leaving. They made out they were happy he was leaving as he stifled their attacking play with sideways and backwards passing.
Yes he does do both but all in aid of ball retention. When he sees a player in a good position his ability to ping a ball to them is excellent.
Plays the quarterback role very effectively against teams we should beat where we have a high level of possession. Yesterday's mistake was uncharacteristic but in summary I think he's what we need to help us get out of this league, but if we get up we'd need another upgrade. What do we think so far then?
He's clearly a great player but there's mistakes in him and I'm not convinced he's comfortable in our side with the options around him. Will be interesting to see what he looks like with an extended period of time with Sheaf.
A lot more to come I hope.

Allen has done a brilliant job recently but Lampard’s next job is to get Sheaf back to his best. Him, Grimes and Rudoni is what we should be aiming for in the middle. What do we think so far then?

I agree with everything you have said but for one thing. Grimes is easily one of our best players. I would be looking at strengthening most positions before looking for a replacement for Grimes.Plays the quarterback role very effectively against teams we should beat where we have a high level of possession. There certainly is. Even top team players misplace the odd pass. Difference is though they have 4 more top class players behind him that can help correct it. Unfortunately we had 3 defenders run to the ball like primary school kids leaving 2 Burnley players completely unmarked in the 6 yard box. There is a mistake in every player
How many bad games has he had for us?Like him but too many have painted him as a player who can do no wrong and just look daft when, as a championship player, he makes mistakes. Yesterday not being his first error.
"We go again".There is a mistake in every player
Perfect player? Never makes a mistake? Micheal Doyle, whoah, Kelly in the middle, whoah, never gives the ball away. How many bad games has he had for us?
Show me the perfect player that never makes a mistake. He gives us the freedom to go forward. He even starts a lot of it himself with his excellent passing range. Very rarely loses the ball even though he is frequently given it when tightly marked.
Isn't it strange how we look for someone to blame when we're not winning every game. We just showed Burnley for what they are. Their two goals came from our mistakes.
I'd prefer to start calling our players not good enough if we can't beat the teams we are about to play and not the last two games we have lost where they are both in the two automatic promotion places. Since our run started in January we have lost to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Derby. Derby won 4 on the bounce by playing backs to the wall. We won all the rest.
Remember this? 6 seconds in.Like him but too many have painted him as a player who can do no wrong and just look daft when, as a championship player, he makes mistakes. Yesterday not being his first error.
No-where near enough though. Jamie Allen should in the refs ear just with little questions and pointing bits out from minute 1. He only got involved later on when it became more blatant what Burnley were doing.I'm sticking with Allen, thought he was very much captain material questioning the ref decision's on many occasions.
He’s a good Championship player, but Grimes ain’t all that.
