He really isn't 'an incredible talent at this level'.
He has a certain poise which impresses some but actually his output is bang average.
At this point he'd be lucky to get in our pretty average midfield.

Utter rubbish. Stats-wise he's been pretty much one of the best in his position in this league over the past couple of years.

I've said this before on here but not all loans require a fee. Some parent clubs pick up the bill but there are caveats, such as they have to play otherwise the club theyre loaned to pay their wages.

McFadzean touched on this in his interview with Skyblue TV last week.

I agree, and that's kind of the point I'm making. It's not as simple as it used to be where you would loan a player, and if he didn't play it wouldn't matter, as the loaning club would pay the peanuts the player was on, and there weren't any caveats like you've mentioned. Nowadays there's always some kind of hook, be it play time or money to be paid.

I think if he had started more games we would have seen better performances from him personally
Though isn't that what loans are to achieve for the parent club, to give the players bit of a kick up the arse?
Harry Kane had a lot of uninspiring loans, I'd imagine it was all part of his development. Not much comfort for the loaning club though.

I thought there was,a player there but his work rate out of possession was poor.
I'm sure he learnt lessons that have helped him develop to where he is today.

Ayari? He wasn't helped by being played a lot as the 10 when that wasn't his position

If we sign him before Saturday & agree to their gentleman's agreement we should pick him anyway, what can Swansea do?

I guess they could insert it as a clause in the deal. Doesn't have to be a gentleman's agreement, they could probably make it legally binding.

Then we will have to employ the same tactics Real Madrid used to sign Robert Jarni 😉
I was in the club shop and had just heard that the Jarni deal was off - I had to tell the staff there, who were still printing his name on the back of the shirts :ROFLMAO:

There's definitely been a change in recruitment policy and Saddkes has said as much. Of course, he's not always right, and he doesnt claim to be, but I definitely think there was,a shift, hopefully that's now going to be sorted.
How so?

It’s more of an evolution of where we’re at in our squad building. We’ve signed 17 players who have almost all been 27 or under. That’s the foundation of the squad so it makes sense to start adding more accomplished 28+ year old players with experience.

We tried to sign Browne and Worrall in the summer, two experienced Championship campaigners. They just didn’t materialise.

Wouldn't surprise me if FA rules didn't allow for this to happen, i.e a club having a say in another's selection decisions. Pure conjecture on my part but these things do usually seem to be described as a gentleman's agreement.

Even if for some reason it doesn't, it seems clear alot of the assumptions about how he dictates money is spent, are just wrong. So totally agree, fair play.

I think a lot of the stuff has been made up / assumed hasn't it? The "no loans" and "won't sign anybody over a certain age". Just because we hadn't, doesn't mean we wouldn't.

This isn’t a dig at the ITKs because they only pass on what they get told and it adds a lot of value to the forum!

It does seem that they get told contradictory things and specifics that may be exaggerated (things get lost in translation if the info 1st, 2nd or 3rd hand) or misinterpreted because we’re only humans.

So the Swansea manager is getting a Matt out of the way so he can have a Widell on the pitch?
A widell on the pitch....very funny lol
Unless this kid that Swansea are after for about £4m is a wonderkid, it makes our £2m deal for Torp, look very good value.
