SISU were literally stripping cost out of every single facet of the club from top to bottom. Over a period of 3 transfer windows the playing squad was completely decimated.

Thorn was dreadful, but it's pretty obvious that regardless of who was in place that there was literally no way to prevent the inevitable. Impossible task.
I think in that summer of 2011 they were seriously considering trying to use just academy players.

They can demand but whether the club will pay that amount for a player who will be 30 on his next birthday remains to be seen.

Hes 29 until he’s 30

3.5 accepted yesterday, just structure of payments to be finalised

He will be here today or tomorrow

Paterson still training with us, both parties keen on a short term deal, international clearance the hold up

BTA Blackburn, Stoke, Hull, QPR keen

That can't be right. So many on here have said that BTA is shit, awful and of L1 standard at best.

And posters on a football forum surely know better than several qualified coaches and managers of Championship clubs, who obviously rate the guy.

I really think posters on here should apply for top manager jobs. 👍

is he going to give Lati a run for his money, or is he more of a Kelly man?

Being a Devon boy he angrily referred to it as a carrot, and I’m not judging! I have a nice little pea size thing to match.

A big thing in all of this is that the player himself has said he wants to leave ..
I cannot see Swansea fans ever accepting him back In their team , so it's likely happening

I think Vik would of said no to a Jan move, by then him and his agent had a plan in place

Not sure that's right. If anything it would've made the pathway much easier for him as clubs would've been able to secure him on a cut price deal - which means more options. As others have said I'm also fairly sure he was angling for a move in Jan as well.

Wasn’t he looking a leaving and then Robins gave him assurances he’d be sold in the summer if he stayed?
it just seems to be him and his agent had the plan to move to europe so he could then get an even better offer plan in place by then

i can't see him signing for one of the lower PL teams that were rumoured to be after him at that stage

I can't see him having agreed to go to the clubs linked that Jan, as I said he had a plan and it's clear that his agent had been setting up the Sporting Club move for a while.

I strongly suspect there had been conversations between his agent and SL at that point. Not impossible that a move could've been fast tracked, especially if he would've been made available on a fairly cut price deal.

Either way even if conversations hadn't happened by then, I doubt he would've refused a move to another club if the club / SISU would've more or less told him he needs to leave.

Yeah.

I have no problem with people saying he's been very poor for us. That's fine.

It's when people totally write a player off, as just being shit, fullstop. Just an awful player, end of story.

I am sure BTA will do well elsewhere, if he does leave.

I just can't believe all these managers who are interested in him, can be wrong.

Think he hasn’t been played to his strengths. Definitely a ST and not a winger.

At the end of the day if it’s him for Grimes which mean we get to spend more of the Sheaf money in the summer then it’s a no brainer.

Will be curious to hear what his wages are like here assume he’d match Haji?

Not that it means much, but we apparently beat off Hull to get him, whether it was the fee, wages or the pull of George Boateng or a combo of any of them, something attracted him to us at the 11th hour

The total wage bill in the last published accounts in total was £18.5m. Binks is not paid £1.5m per year.
And that is everybody including cooks, bottle washers, cleaners, Jim the Gateman, coaches, recruitment and analysis, match day stewards and the club shop staff oh and players.
