I've had it on good authority that he's the highest paid player in the squad.
I'm not sure if the exact figure is £30k, that's what's been reported.
But he is on more than Wright and simms, so the figure isn't wildly out.
He was expected to develop into a top quality centre half, and end up in the Premier league for a significant profit. (The next John Terry apparently)
That could still happen of course, but it's not going quite to plan so far.

Well, he’s statistically very good in this league yes.
He’s not an exciting midfielder if you get me? But he’s very good at keeping possession, dictating tempo and doing the simple stuff very well; basically what Allen has been doing last few games. Would give opportunity for Torp and Rudoni to play a less disciplined game I imagine.
He's good, he isn't going to run around diving into tackles but he'll make us a much more coherent attacking team with how he can progress play from deep.

He'll also allow us to go forward quicker than Allen, there has been one or two times Allen has taken the safe 5 yard pass when a longer ball could have been one. Grimes if he signs will play that pass.
I hope so. I think he’ll complement what we already have really well and allow our attacking talent to flourish. Hope it works out!
