Indeed and the last 2 seasons be played left wing. Think he got something like 17 assists too in that 2005/06 season. 15 goals 17 assists, that's some return for a winger /attacking midfielder.

Listened to one of the podcasts he was on over lockdown and said Reading came in for him the year before he went to Birmingham, declined them as he thought we had as good chance of going up, Reading finished on 106 points! Still a record now

Godden and Gyokores both play better on their own with box formation behind them. At times obviously play well together when circumstances dictate that.

Where the definate improvement is required next season is more goals from the 4 in the Box and wing backs. Defence have actually been decent with their goal contributions relatively.

No surprise to me , had a goal every 220 minutes at championship level for us so banging in 18 in league 1 at 33 doesnt shock me .

His legs had gone for this level though. Always said he’d score a hatful in L1, if he was still here he’s still be the best finisher at the club. But he lost that yard of pace to get himself the opportunities at this level. Towards the end he started snatching at chances because they came less frequently IMO.

No issue with that , great servant for us and hopefully gets Charlton up

Godden has had a great season for Charlton, and I'm delighted for him. He may of lost that yard of pace that's required in the championship, but he's still a fox in the box at league 1 level.
I'm sure if we'd of kept him he'd of scored more and contributed more than Simms has done this season.
I'd love to see Chatlton get promoted through the playoffs and see Godden back in the championship.
(Although we will be in the PL)
