no, they weren't before the 3.60 pints until about 2:30 you could basically walk up to the bar and have at most 1 person in front of you

Well Doug has kept it going with the posh seats near the dug out going for £60 a game and they sell out within days!

Why would someone stop paying £6.20 at the ground to go and pay £6.20 somewhere else?

which is why giving out cheap pints while asking for £35 to take a kid to Xmas football makes no sense to me. I want my club to get the balance right. I don't think they have with U18s prices. That's it.

It was always busy in the fan zone outside the ground. I stopped going because it took too long to get a dreadful watered down pint in a plastic cup.

The pints are pretty rubbish in the ground.

The cheap pints are a promotion to get people into the routine of drinking at the ground

So people are happy to drink a pint of piss so long as they save £3?

Yes and and I am talking about the concourses. The outside bars are also much, much busier as well

You have no idea if it will ever return to £6.20. £6.20 was massively overpriced and priced in a way that they knew the only people who would pay that are people who are already in the ground as that is the only option if they want a pint. It would be absolute madness to put the prices back to that/ You may in the future see price rises but they will be aimed at getting the most money while not driving away all of the new custom. Doug isn't stupid, the beers prices while while wants people their earlier and after the games aren't going to be over a quid more a pint that the local pubs and clubs.

Is there anyone on this thread who has actually decided not to attend a game they otherwise would have done due to the new pricing?

I’m confused

So at the moment people are forcing down disgusting pints of piss and paying £3.20 for the privilege.

Why would people do that?

Il ask you this

Do you think 35 pound is reasonable for a child

Do you believe 45 - 60 pound is reasonable for an adult to watch second tier football

Both are too expensive

I suppose for adults you have to distract the fact you are a season ticket ticket holder. Someone buying at this sort of price is likely to be an occasional buyer. So for entertainment it’s not that bad. Most concerts I go to are more aren’t in premium venues.

That's my point.

As a season ticket holder I don't really mind them ramping up prices for Brum/West Brom etc. If some fans only want to turn up for the bigger/derby games they can pay a bit extra.

I think doing the same for boxing day is a bit cynical since it's christmas.

But at the end of the day the club is still losing money and money is ultimately the biggest driver of performance, so I can't really blame Doug for trying to maximise.

Christmas doesn't have the same ring to it these days although I'm sure it's still relevant to the kids.

if Ipswich is A+ then I won't be going because I'm not paying £70 to take two kids to watch a second tier game. If my kids were with me on Boxing Day then we wouldn't be going to Swansea either.

I'll put you down as a no then

Highly doubt Ipswich will be A+ given it's an evening game

Seems to be a lot 'I am not bothered because it doesn't affect me'.

I think the reason it annoys me is because I would be angry and realistically gutted if I was charged £45 away at West Brom, Birmingham, Swansea or Leicester.

You are the one who raised the issue of this affecting us. You said, "we'd be paying".
I merely pointed out that it wouldn't affect most of us.
I genuinely feel for folk who struggle to afford tickets but I believe season tickets are the answer for most of us. For the rest it's supply and demand.

For anyone an adult and a kids season ticket could have been bought for £490, working out at £10 each per game.

Doug is looking after the more loyal fans and not the ones who want to cherry pick West Brrom, Birmingham and Leicester. Them types are probably the ones moaning on here.

*could have

seats would be empty most games because of clashes with their training, and even if they rode to games really fast on their bikes, they'd still miss it.

Me. I can only get to a few games a season now. Was choosing between Norwich and Birmingham last month. When I saw it was £45 a game, I opted for Norwich.

Or £12 per game each in the normal stand and they can miss any game they want. Seriously what more can Doug do, hes given people super cheap season ticket options.

The cherry pickers shouldnt be getting cheap options.

I'm not biting. I'll just say that no one's asking for cheap, but that £35 for a kid to watch a game of second tier football is a p*sstake. Latrrrz, Greggs!
