And thats terrible , but we arent paying that and their matchday fans will be paying the same as ours on the night

So its fine to fleece loyal season ticket holders but not the occasionals?

Good job others don't do the same, or we'd be paying £45 at every away ground!
We're wont as most of us don't go to away games. Therefore the price of away tickets doesn't affect the majority of us.
Also the majority of us have season tickets so we are not affected by price of match tickets.
I just paid £90 to take 2 family members to Boxing day game. Happy to pay it. If I wasn't I would just spend less on their Christmas presents.

Lets use Middlesbrough as an example to compare to

Hypothetical 30k crowd. All at adult prices for ease of comparison. City cat A+ vs Boro cat A

CCFC
Standard season ticket income
24000 @ £19 = £456k
Matchday ticket income
6k @ £45 = £270K

Total ticket income = £726k

MFC
Standard season ticket income
18000 @ £27 = £486k
Matchday ticket income
12k @ £33 = £396k

Total ticket income = £882k

If you want to know why our matchday tickets are so high, blame the reasonable season ticket prices

What about the clubs who have decent season ticket prices and decent matchday prices ?

Wages were down as 23.5 million in 2024
Do we know what is average?

I'm certain my point stands anyway. We certainly aren't being reckless with spending

Derby matchday prices v watford View attachment 46868
Watford isn't a Cat A game for them. Their highest adult tickets would be £37 if it was.

Fair enough though, they are cheaper that us.

And yet are currently getting lower crowds than us

I took my (young) kids to the Hull match - and was shocked / annoyed that they also had to pay for a full price ticket to sit in the same stand as my season ticket.

Ultimately, the cost of entertainment in this country is now hugely inflated - which is obviously linked to an increase in costs (salaries, materials etc) - theatre tickets now range between £50 - £150 per person (including kids tickets) for around 2/3 hours of entertainment. So £30 - £50 for +90mins of football is probably proportional.

I’m not saying it’s right, but it is representative of where everything is going - and Championship football has been comparatively cost competitive for a while.

I’m sad that we’re the first club to be charging these prices - particularly given the traditional values and history of the club - but I fear we’re just the first of many and, sadly, it means many working families are going to be priced out of matchday (beyond an occasional ‘treat’ at Christmas etc).

We usually average less than them .. they are well supported

And our tickets are usually cheaper than they are now

Its almost like ticket pricing has almost zero impact on crowd numbers

The point all along is that the prices are too expensive , just because people pay it doesnt mean they are good .

My point all along - What are you basing the claim that they're "too expensive" on?

Il ask you this

Do you think 35 pound is reasonable for a child

Do you believe 45 - 60 pound is reasonable for an adult to watch second tier football

Both are too expensive

I personally wouldn't regularly pay it, hence why I got a season ticket.

If I couldn't make every game I would pick and choose, and choose the cheaper games

But if we got close to selling the game out financially it makes sense, which is why I asked how many tickets were left that could have been sold.

No one is being obnoxious, just talking about the subject.
Isn't the question as always why you are boxes or upper decker being subsidised by the commoners and their offspring?

Is it too expensive yes or no

I can't answer for other people.

Its too expensive for me, hence why I choose not buy those tickets.

I expect other people who can't afford it to also not buy them, and choose a different game.

Those that can afford it will pay it.

I've made it clear all along that I think those prices are too high. However I'm getting fed up of all this "won't somebody please think of the children" nonsense.

There are plenty of opportunities to see us play without paying those prices.

So thankyou , its too expensive

Not arsed about your weird anti child comment because kids are our future , end of story

Seems to be a lot 'I am not bothered because it doesn't affect me'.

I think the reason it annoys me is because I would be angry and realistically gutted if I was charged £45 away at West Brom, Birmingham, Swansea or Leicester.

Im suprised how many of our fans will just back the club no matter what , only until it effects them though i imagine

We have an odd fanbase

One fan on twitter tried to justify it by using fucking freddos as an example of how costs have risen
