EMC played well I thought lots of potential there. Quick and built like a brick shithouse won’t be many players pushing him off the ball. Trouble he had tonight he was clearly the main threat and Oxford just constantly doubled on him but it’s not easy to do that in the champ as you leave gaps for others to exploit. Final ball needs work for sure but we never sign finished articles. His attributes tho are high level champ and with progression low end prem.

He looked good, but they were very one dimensional.

Mostly worried about Rudoni but TBH it’s been a curse of ours for ages only Saka seems to have anything like one from the current squad.

Think a lot of it isn’t just technical ability, it’s vision and decision making. How many times this season have Wright and Simms made great runs that the midfield either haven’t clocked or have but then stalled?

Rudoni to be fair to him has played behind exceptionally poor attacking options for Huddersfield

You’ll be glad to know Rudoni has played most his games at CM rather than AM this season.

Looking at our targets, it’s interesting that Browne and Rudoni have both played DM, CM and AM this season. Like Eccles, they can all play anywhere because both have also appeared on the wings too.

Good news them getting knocked out a nice rest for him longer than expected and can’t get suspended or injured in a match.

Torp is a top player I think, not been fully fit or sharp at all for us yet, and still has had moments of brilliance imagine how good he’ll be when he gets a proper post season rest and preseason with the squad

You can tell Torp has got something about him, the same way Sheaf had something about him when he first signed. A full pre season and a full season in this league and I think the £2m we paid will look like an absolute steal

Its quite easy to forget that many of our new signings didnt actually have a pre season with us so thats why they had a slow start

If we look at the rumours Swedish GK, McCallum, Browne, Rudoni, Dolan then we are in a good place in midfield and up front but still lacking in central defence and right back. Have we heard whether we are going to pursue Binks? Binks and McNair would be great. I've not seen any Right back names thrown around unless the thought process would be that Eccles and Lati could provide cover there.

Don’t think right back will be a priority with Lati and potentially Burroughs covering Milan.

Are we lacking at RB or can we just improve? Burroughs and Lati can and do play there.

CB I don't see two coming in unless one goes. Would prefer a better option than McNair or Binks if we are looking to improve the starting 11 too.

Paddy McNair had the measure of Gyokeres each time we played them season before last. This season not so much against us. But isn’t he a midfielder that was playing centre half?
may be wrong on that…

I think it would be hard to attract anyone particularly good as they know they woukd be unlikely to play much because of Van Ewijk. We have plenty of cover too.

If Lati goes we'd probably need a CB and a RB to replace him. And I'd prefer that as we'd have a bigger squad and players specialising. I don't mind Lati but he doesn't excel in either position.

He wasn't great since coming back from International duty. Towards the end of the season it was divulged that he was carrying an injury but he was guilty of several game changing mistakes which cost us some points. An all rounder but not great at any position

Eh? Gyokeres scored the winner against them in the home league game and then also went through on goal which eventually saw Hamer score.

I hope the second player is Harrison Burrows, but I feel one of the clubs with deeper pockets might snatch him up. EMC does look like a steal of a signing though.

Our pockets could be deepish if Gyok moves soon.

Did you watch that first half at Birmingham?
He was shockingly bad, and got dragged at half time.

Granted, he needs a pre-season and time to settle in and get up to speed, but it's easy to look good when playing against poor teams like Sheffield Wednesday, or coming off the bench against tiring opponents.

He has a good shot on him, and he can pick a pass, but can he cope with the pace and physicality of the championship? For me, I will wait to judge him, hopefully he'll look good when we start the new season.

McNair was a sub in that home league game….. (and yes I have just had to Google it).

And yeah I realise about the Hamer goal but I felt he actually dealt with him pretty well at the end of the season in those games.
