Again, that tells me masks work, though obviously cloth masks not as effective as surgical grade masks but still fairly effective going by that study in the States.

Your link is talking about should people get even better masks, not should they wear one at all. Any mask is better than no mask, obviously a good mask is better than a bad mask.

You said “aren’t non surgical masks no use” and as I said no that’s bollocks, they’re more useful than no mask. Ergo they have a use.

Masks aren’t there to protect you from a virus. They’re there to stop you spreading the virus you may have as far as you would with no mask.

Well it depends what you define as of use. It’s pretty odd to get something inferior when the margins stated as a differential are significant - are France wrong to ban them?

Protecting them from what exactly? I’m pretty sure that if I am carrying the most deadly virus ever known to man I would know it. Then I would stay in until I felt better. Isn’t how we have dealt with illness for thousands of years.

Surgeons use masks in a sterile environment and do not handle the mask once on. The amount of people that pull a manky looking piece of cloth out to put over their face whilst then constantly manhandling it once on is ridiculous. If you think this is ‘keeping you safe’ then you are wrong.

Are you telling me that after the last 18 months you're still not aware there is period where you could have the virus but symptoms havent appeared yet or you could be even totally asymptomatic?

That is the biggest load of bullshit going. That is purely to scare you. Anyway looks like I will be the only one there today without my muzzle on. Better stay away from me just in case I have a killer virus and don’t know it. Oh and I haven’t been jabbed.

Why is it always down to someone else to protect him? We know obesity is a major risk factor, yet he's spent the past 18 months watching his waistband expand at home, while boring us to death on here.

It's a well know medical fact that people can be asymptomatic and that's not just with Covid-19.

Typhoid Mary is probably the famous case.

So let’s just concentrate on the science.
Fact:
Wearing a mask will not stop you catching COVID-19
Wearing a mask will help prevent you passing COVID on to others if you have it.
Having both jabs will not stop you catching COVID and dying.
Having both jabs will greatly reduce the chances of you dying from COVID.
Opinion:
Wearing a mask in enclosed areas with lots of people around seems to be the sensible thing to do.
Wearing a mask in enclosed areas will probably make others fee more relaxed and less worried.
So the choice only as I see it is this.
Wear a mask to try and protect others and make them feel safer and more comfortable. Or simply say f*** you I ain’t wearing a mask, and I don’t give a sh** how it makes you feel.
Your choice.

Cheers for this link - a good reminder to everyone that masks do make a difference, and good masks are even better. With the new CDC guidance out last week about vaccinated COVID sufferers spreading the virus, I’ll definitely be wearing mine indoors, might even upgrade my mask after reading this

The thousands of years where millions have died in pandemics? Sounds like a great plan...

Not so many idiots walking in the road risking getting run over to avoid you lately. Which is good to see.
I actually saw someone on a paddle board 30M offshore wearing a mask the other day. Hilarious

Are we all forgetting among all the hype and fear that some 98.8% of the population are not at risk? The vaccine will not stop you getting covid or stop you spreading it. The vaccine is supposedly to stop you from becoming extremely ill from covid. The mask thing is nonsense and always has been. I do wish people would start using their common sense and stop listening to the media and the scientist who's models have all been proven wrong so far. Covid exist but the biggest danger are the politicians.

Christ, even Boris had to listen to the scientists eventually. This is getting like flat earthers.

There's a absolute ton of evidence that masks suppress transmission, a ton of it. Google it for yourself.

If you don't want to wear a mask for some other reason, that's your choice, but let's not have the utter bullshit that masks don't work because that's rubbish.

As for the models, funnily enough the evidence is pretty clear there too. We chose, for political reasons to ignore the models, delay lockdowns, and as a result had world beating death rates in the first two waves and eventually had to shut down longer and harder than we would have needed to with a timely response.

It's not yet clear how the next wave will pan out, but casually letting it rip amongst the younger unvaccinated population, particularly of school age, isn't anything that the rest of the world is doing by choice. In essence, it's an experiment.

Funny that HIV/AIDS spread so much then. Wonder why?

Oh yeah, because the people that had it didn't know until much, much later.

Problem is Typhoid Mary knew she was a carrier. She withheld it the info from employers and carried on working in different households and spreading despite this knowledge. That's why she's so notorious.
