Sorry to start a new topic but I cant find the one I started some weeks ago on my phone without going through each page indivdually (mods feel free to move it to the previous if you want!).

I know its probably considered ambitious but I would really like us to try and sign this player. 21 yrs old, proven at this level, and now hes been told hes free to leave Leicester :

Imagine him and ALF as a strike force combined with Juke. To get him and ALF for under £500k (if the reported £350k is correct) i think the goals would start to come!

Then again in reality, we'll probably get neither :(

Whilst I agree that Waghorn is a more than decent prospect with things as they are we have more chance of signing Foghorn Leghorn than Waghorn - we are signing nobody and selling anyone we can. Thats the reality of life under SISU.

Would probably cost 1-1.5 million. Also I wouldn't really call him proven. In his first season at Leicester he scored 12 goals then 4 goals last season. Eastwood managed 11 championship goals in a season when he played for Southend.

He is too much of a gamble for me due to his high price tag, at least if we sign Le fondre and he turns out to be rubbish then it will only be 300k wasted. Would be worth a shot if he was avaiable for 500-800k but I doubt it.

we cant afford the 350k for Lord Fontleroy, so we are looking at a 1mil+ player

I've heard as high a fee of £3m mentioned. I think that was by a Reading fan who said even they would struggle to match the fee wanted by Leicester.

No one has said we're looking at him. Tbf, to our knowledge, we're looking at no one!

I def wouldnt see us paying anywhere near £1m for him let alone anything over. Would still like to see him here, but with these price tags, i no it wont happen.

Cant see the clubs linked to him, Bristol and Sheff Wed, stumping up too much money tho!

Would be a decent signing for us but then again like others have already mentioned I'm resided to the fact that SISU couldn't even afford to buy a pasty and pint at the Ricoh at the moment. We can only dream about a Le Fondre, Juke and Waghorn combo!

Very pointless as i know the last 2 weeks a certain x brum player has been training with the squad and in the end he was told we didnt have any money to offer him a contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We cannot afford any signings and now with SISU keen to get out no transfers before the window closes...............

Pointless because?????

Im not starting a rumour, not saying my mates mates uncles long lost cousin has said we're chasing him or the usual stories.

Im purely stating that players are available that would suit or team.

And i do realise we have no funds, but didnt no (until people replied on here) what figures were being banded about.

So im unsure why the post could be considered "pointless"

I know because of our excess in the past we are in this position, but it doesn't seem that long ago when we were signing De-laurent, Normann, Moldovan even that Peruvian fella and chucking around £1 million pounds like there was no tomorrow, Strachan and Big Ron!!!! Thats where the rot started. Up to then we would occasionally buy big, but usually wisely.....Phillips, Dublin, Huckerby, Whelan, Gallagher, Ndlov, Aloisi even the morrocons.

I know even then we whinged, but look at where we are now...Wolves, WBA, Birmingham were all the smaller teams....I want SISU out, but the bad management we have had over the years beggars believe!!!

Yh we did spend silly in the old days! And i bet most of the buys in that era didnt even play thay many games between em. Zuniga is the peruvian i think you refer to. Him along with Martinez and Guerro alone must have cost a fair bit but were only bit part players!

I think the pointless part is not a dig at anyone, its just pointless in the sense of naming names, we dont have a pot to piss in so its pointless no matter who is available they will not play for free.....And not fiction or rumour We had a player train 4 times over the last 2 weeks and he was told we would like to sign you but we have no money for wages,,, fact.............

Fair enough. I didnt take it personal. Just wish Sisu had a bit of ambition so we could attract / afford A player. Even 1 will do (altho we def need more)

Zuniga, thats him, He wOn the golden boot in South america, but only played a handful of games for us ..... HOW MUCH MONEY DID WE THROW AWAY?? we were 60 odd million in debt when we got relegated but still spent a fair bit on Hughes and the like...waste!!! What would Thorn do with that sort of clout??:mad:

It could go one of two ways: we could end up with more Mcindoes and Bells, or more Westwood and Dann. Until he gets the chance to spend, we wont get to find out :(

Marcus Bent I assume was the ex brum player.

Interesting fact ; Isreal Zuniga gave up football and returned to his trained profession as a dentist.

Nothing to get to excited about so the fact we couldnt afford him makes it even worse..... Stuart Parnaby
