wasn't this also around the time we were signing a load of players from Honduras and South America - none of which were any good? Was one Perdomo? the fat Uruguayan? Ivan somebody one of those from Honduras? wasn't there a Chilean?

Ysrael Zuniga, Ivan Guerrero and Jairo Martinez are the ones I remember from the late Strachan days, not sure if there were some others?

There was an Italian striker, maybe called something like Stefano Goicachina, who made a couple of substitute appearances and then like others disappeared without a trace

Jose Perdomo was on loan for a few games and really looked the part. I remember him playing at Villa Park and running the show.

That was in 1990 or 1991 though wasn't it? Think he was due to sign but failed the medical quite spectacularly.

As for Johansen, he had a twin brother at Bolton - seems we bought the crap twin. I only recall them being really, really small...the ball looked massive when they were in possession.
