This is the man

Ramon Mierez

Good age, height, strength, power, heading, finishing, poaching. 22 goals in 31 games. Would command a fee but couldn't imagine it being out of our reach. Great name and Argentinian. What's not to like?

I initially read that as Marquis signing. I’ve just about recovered.

What's not to like? Maybe that he's just signed for a Croatian team for £2.25m.

With a recommendation like that @edgy you must be or a family member or his agent. He does sound great and can even poach. But can he scramble or fry?

Forget this guy Edgy, Bayo is the man (probably wouldn’t get a work permit)

His team have just been promoted to Ligue 1, would think his stock is a bit higher than us.

Teams in bottom half of that league are shit (Sunderland level realistically), and top half Champo level and top 5 are quality

So you think we would stay up comfortably in Ligue 1?

What a load of rubbish. The entirety of Ligue 1 is above our level currently.

You might be right yet strangely the quality of the French international team is higher you could say a lot higher than the England team and has been for a long time.
And the top French club teams aswell.

Depends on what you definition of "our level" is. CCFC as an individual, yes. CCFC as a Championship club, no. The top 6-8 Championship Clubs would compete in the bottom half of Ligue 1.

A small sample size but we signed Da Costa and Jobello from the bottom of Ligue 2

We're not a top 6-8 Championship Club at the moment though are we?!

Not a bad idea though. If we bought Ronaldo's right bollock and Messi's left then started an academy insemination programme two decades down the lines we're golden. Although I'm surprised we haven't got a team full of Ndlovu's right now.

Actually, scrap that - much better idea. Buy Gary Breen's and we can all have our dream team instead.
