I haven't believed many of his public protestations and claims, so I believe that an identical deal was rejected in January 2013 as much as I would if I'd received the text from Aldridge Prior himself...
Doubt it was identical, why would you need weeks of negotiations if it was?
I think the statement applies principally to the fact it was a short term deal.
