I like the sound of Tudgay, he always seemed to be knocking them in at Sheff Weds - but then looking at the stats he's actually not that prolific, a one-in-four kind of striker.

Not that I'm slating him before he signs - he's consistently played at a level above ours, and at 31 isn't exactly past it. He'd certainly bring a lot of experience to the team.
Why do we need to always look at the past form of every striker whom we are linked with / potentially signing.
Have we ever thought that that player may of had issues at the time, or the team around him did not supply the right type of service.
I remember another ex forest striker with a similar record who came here... the rest is history.
OK time to stop this now.
Tudgay is 31, we have a good idea of his ability now. It's a long enough time period to smooth out things like the odd bad day.
McGoldrick was 24 and has consistently scored at this level. His worst period was at Forest, where a division above he still averaged a goal every 3 starts.

Stop what? People going on about past clubs and records? who gives a shit about past records, they could come here and score 30 or come here and score 5 who cares, at least we are bringing added quality, was well liked at Sheff Wed.
Also Mcgoldrick record was -That certainly is not 1 every 3 starts!!! check facts first.

He's very similar to Clarke really. Record at this level better than in the Championship.I like the sound of Tudgay, he always seemed to be knocking them in at Sheff Weds - but then looking at the stats he's actually not that prolific, a one-in-four kind of striker.

So are we making the case that you can never judge a players performance because they might just have been having a few bad years?
Makes the entire world transfer market kinda pointless doesn't it?
I mean who says Manset is worth less than Messi? Maybe he's just having a really bad day.
As they say. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

I am sorry I forgot we are waiting on Ronaldo to agree a deal, and Drogba to turn up at Ryton. How silly of me.
Get a grip people.. We are league one, we are where we are, and Tudgay would be a very good addition right now, would bring a wealth of experience, and as a individual who has played and coached the game, would score goals within the formation and tactics we play. Simple as that.
Tudgay's a great addition. His recordP) suggests somewhere between 15-20 goals at this level.
My point wasn't about him, but about the idea that we can't judge a players performance by looking at his past record.
i think we're doing incredibly well with signings so far. just so heartbreaking that we won't get to support them.
