80th out of 92, Not that bad :thinking about:
And still in a job. That's the Coventry way... Abject failure is acceptable.
There may be a reasonable argument for that. It's been a while since I did the figures but IIRC almost all our managers in my lifetime have a win % much like Pressleys (about 30-35%) apart from the ones commonly mentioned as ones we got rid of too early (Nillsson, Black, Dowie, Robins) who all share one common factor: they didn't last a full season with us.
There's a strong argument that none of our managers have been able to break past lower table form for an extended period. Which either says we've had shit managers for nearly 30 years or there's something wrong with the club structurally.
Actually, allowing that some of the managers below SP have inherited a basket case, are still in the honeymoon period and will turn that around, I think that position is flattering. But ok, how does he compare to previous CCFC managers?
Ha ha. And we're not a basket case? Every leading scorer sold under his tenure, moving back and forth between 'home' venues, a toxic atmosphere, division within dwindling gates...
Did I say we are not a basket case? Must you indulge in this misrepresenting of other posters?
Some don't need misrepresentation to have their jaundiced views look foolish
My point was that other managers have been in the job for just a few weeks and some, inevitably, will turn those clubs around. Whereas SP has been in post for 2 years and is showing no sign of doing so. How is my view 'jaundiced'? Or are you just being a dick as usual?
Managers in their roles for weeks won't have had their best players repeatedly sold, or moved on under them, have they? Pressley has faced this time and time again, always expected to find a better player for an ever decreasing budget. To do it once or twice is possible. Repeatedly is ridiculous.
Your view is jaundiced as you'll happily and readily blame anyone; whilst not affording the owners at least some part in proceedings. That's why
I assume you are fully behind the manager then?
I do not readily blame anyone. I do blame those responsible and that includes SISU who I despise. Am I clear? (Although what your accusations are to do with this thread I don't know)
You're so prickly and aggressive, my O-level psychology tells me you're not even sure if what you're typing yourself. And you've got bedroom problems
I would still say higher , as i believe that he is a better manager than steven pressley full stop . At ccfc or cfc. The suggestion that nobody could do better than SP is pretty funnyI wonder where Jose Mourinho would rank if he was managing CCFC under the current ownership?
Seriously though, I'm not sure this ranking list gives a fair view of management ability. In the Premier League you have a few elite teams with huge resources and budgets and in many cases the current manager inherited an already world-class team, this league also includes many teams with comparatively meager budgets. It's no coincidence that the promoted teams are often relegated in their first season. This vast gulf in resources does not exist to the same degree in the Championship, L1 or L2.
Also, the league is judged on points gained from a combination of draws and wins, not how many wins you have.
I'm not saying it would make much difference but I always wonder when this kind of stat is thrown around why people don't use "average points per game". It's far more meaningful.

whilst this kind of table can be said to be flawed in its calculation, like any league table it does provide an indicator of sorts (shouldn't be taken in isolation though). Should SP really be in the bottom 12 given the budgets and players he has had available? - I would not have thought so
I would still say higher , as i believe that he is a better manager than steven pressley full stop . At ccfc or cfc. The suggestion that nobody could do better than SP is pretty funny
Good stuff SkyBlueCharlie.
McAllister and Coleman really were as dreadful as I remember.
Would be interested to see where Robins, Reid and Black rank in that list.
