Was just about to post this, hopefully just a hoax and it can be sorted! Or somebody has just left their backpack.

Is the Man Utd team bus actually there yet anyway?

Must be quite bad if it is fully abandoned for today and not just delated?

Just glad it's been evacuated before anyone has been hurt.

Will be interesting to see the outcome, must be something if they've abandoned the game. Just hope nothing happens outside the stadium

It's Rooneys secret stash of KFC.

Better same than sorry with these sort of things. Guess they'll try and play it in the week now. They won't want to leave it too long. Hopefully something can be sorted out for the Bournemouth fans who travelled today.

Was watching a documentary on the tube the other day and when someone reports a suspicious package a member of staff goes and checks it out. So if they've got to the stage of evacuating and then calling the match off there has to be a genuine concern.

Man U game abandoned

Due to suspect package being found at OT.

Hope if it's a wind up (prefer it to be a wind up that real tbf!) the offenders get dealt with properly!

If it's legit it's got IRA wrote all over it after they raised their threat level in the week you don't tend to find an isis package as they wear them

Don't think its been confirmed either way, but they were clearly worried enough that they were taking no chances with it. They are continuing to call it a suspect package still.

Well done to Man Utd and staff. Got everyone out without panic and rightly so. Can't not take these kings seriously. Chilling.

From what's been said there wasn't a bomb but whatever they found had been made to look like a very realistic bomb.

Yes being described now as an incredibly lifelike explosion device, but not actually a bomb. Basically a dummy explosive

There has to be a fair bit of CCTV footage. Hopefully they can find who it was.

Crazy that's able to happen! Then again, guess it must have been very apparent as there must be loads that just gets left on the floor at OT since they don't have bins

I'm sure years ago at HR there'd been reports of a bomb and they asked everyone to look under their seats!

Question is, what was the motivation for leaving the dummy device?

Few years back West Midlands police left a dummy device inside a box at wolves ground after an exercise on the Thursday been as they have been doing very public terror threat drills in the Trafford centre this week it's pretty likely this could be a police device that they have left there after a drill at Old Trafford

are you saying this package was left there by the police and as a consequence of its discovery they cancelled the game?

If it was left by the police wouldn't they realise as soon as someone reported it?

So in the space of a couple of hours you have mentioned that it is either IRA, and now "pretty likely" the Police? Really?

Talk about making assumptions without foundation!

Absolutely!

If I were the FA id be re-arranging the fixture and playing it behind closed doors with United refunding at the ticket money back to the fans, just incase!

Will be played Tuesday night now. Imagine it will be tricky for the Bournemouth fans to arrange to get back up for the game.

Lucky it is meaningless game, imagine if it wasn't and Sunderland were involved they would still be talking about it in 50 years time.

though they seem keen to sweep the fact that earlier in the season they played a self confessed paedophile under the carpet.

Surely be massive consequences, wouldn't be surprised if Manchester United and the FA take legal action against the private company who fucked up.

Someone will be looking for a new job tomorrow!

The Bournemouth supporters should sue the company for the money they've lost. Not a short trip and most of them probably won't be able to make it again Tuesday night.
