For me......

Cyrus Christie - Young lad didnt look out of place at all. Needs to work on his crossing but made some great runs and was never beaten down his wing. Deffo one for the future :p

Gael Bigirimana. Looked calm and composed. His one touch passing was very good and he always made himself available. He kept the play going very fluidly and looks a real asset.

Gael clear MoTM- Very assured performance, eager to have the ball, not afraid to keep it and wait for the right pass.

Honourable mention for Jukebox as well, very strong on the ball, did well on the few occassions he had service.

Both Gael and Cyrus had excellent debuts and I thought Lukas worked tirelessly for little reward.

Biggy Ree Marner for me.

Only way I can pronounce his name properly if I break it down and keep saying it to myself. :p

Gael Bigirimana, then Lukas and Cyrus. Gael had a good touch, looked like he had fire in his belly, and gave 100%. Cyrus did a great run in the 1st half which is really promising. Someone who will attack down the wing is something we've missed at the Ricoh. Lukas had a hard time with 2 or 3 marking him as soon as he had the ball. Worked hard though and was a problem for them in the 1st half

Gael was fantastic. Juke did well to cope on his own and Keogh kept us in it at some points!:claping hands:

I said Clingan earlier, but to be fair to put in that kind of performance for a 17yo in his first game, got to be Gael.

Needs a song now!

To the tune of Copacabana.

His name is Gael, Bigirimana
His hair looks pretty strange, but he can pass from any range.
Bigirimana.....Bigirimana.

(I'll get my coat)

Excellent debuts and we must take their age into consideration, but I wouldn't go as overboard as many seem to here. Both have massive potential and both will get my full support. However, whilst I think they will be all the better for the experience, they have a long way to go and lots to learn. Gael in particular was comfortable in possession, rarely gave the ball away and excites me as a fan, but sometimes I felt the right ball wasn't played, that will come in time as he grows. Cyrus started slowly, had some great runs down the line particularly when 11 v 10 and showed great pace with a potential for good delivery too, but as a full back there were times he was way out of position and on another day could easily have conceded two goals for being the wrong side of his man. Looking forward to seeing much more of both, but it highlights how poor some others were and how thin we are in depth.

My MoM, Clingan covered every blade, Juke gave everything he had, but I thought Cranie was composed and looked the one class act. I just wish he was a bit bigger and had more presence because we looked too lightweight in the middle and always vunerable at set pieces.

Bigirimana, Jutkievicz
Best not to support us

Bigirimana for me as well. Phenomenal performance considering the circumstances. No doubt an offer of a bag of jelly babies and some chocolate coins and he'll be off.

I think the whole team did relatively well. Last season, everyone got carried away about Nathan Cameron's first few performances. Lets give Bigirimana a break and not put too much pressure on him to perform all the time

P-Biggy was very good today at times and was a close second for motm, but I'll have to give it to Keogh as he looked a rock in our defence today.

"but I'll have to give it to Keogh as he looked a rock in our defence today."

Interesting. Most fans still seem to think Keogh is better as a right back, despite what Andy Thorn believes.

Before today's game I said he was a R/B and should not be put in the centre.

But he did really well there and didn't look out of place at all.

Quite a few choices, which tells me we were not totally shit (I was there & concur).

For me Gael Bigirimana, Juke then Cyrus Christie. Sammy did fine & no one had much of a stinker, poorest of the lot were Baker & Sheffs.

Interesting to see hat sort of team is fielded vs. Bury?

"Interesting to see hat sort of team is fielded vs. Bury?"

Very interesting, given Thorn's declaration of intent to be competitive in all games, league and cup.

One would assume he will field the same team?

Defence and keeper need to learn as a unit. I expect a strongish side with Thomas added to the middle and probably RO'D and Platt up top. The two players we can't afford to risk are Clingan and Juke.

I think Bury team will be something like
------------Murphy
Christie--Mcpake--Wood--Hussey
--------------Big
-------Thomas------Bell
-----------Mcsheffery
--------ROD--------Wilson

With our squad I think we have to field a strong team out of necessity rather than choice.

I think Dunn will start in goal if I'm honest.

I really can't see how we can risk all our first teamers. We have an incredibly thin squad as it is and we really can't risk picking up any injuries. Much as I would like us to field our best 11 I am not sure it would be a wise move. If we were to pick up a couple of injuries on Tuesday we'll all be regretting playing our best 11 on here the next morning.

If it were me I would play Dunn, Wood and McPake, O'Donovan and Thomas.

I cant see any other options :( Didnt at say he will always play his strongest side no matter what?

The two kids have a steady game today, i think people are getting too excited using words like 'Phenomenal'. No one really stood out for me as they were all pretty average, if i was forced to choose it would be gael.

Gael was quality 1st time i've seen him play. Ended up being the most reliable and seemed the most experienced on the day:claping hands:
