from a good’ish source, heading to Everton for 22 million plus add ons, also says our cut
Is 25% of anything over 8 million, Norwich are signing Jordan Rhodes from Sheffield weds,

Our sell on fee percentage was 15% I’m sure .. 3.2m sold for with add ins taking to around 5 million. Either way the club should be looking at around 2.5-3m you would think. If invested right enough money to get us out of this league !!

What I’ve been told is Leicester very interested as well, but likely a deal to be agreed
With Everton this week or next, 25% on anything over 8million is what I’ve been told.
If it doesn’t pan out ‘I won’t be coming on begging forgiveness, all I can say is it’s who
I consider a good source.

If was 25% over £8m that could still be two diff ways

As in as long as the transfer is over £8m we get 25%, so if £20m we get £5m,
Or
We get 25% of the part over £8m so if £20, that 25% of £12m so £3m

If we could get 6 good players all costing 500k each, I’d say we’d be one of the favourites to go up!!! It’s time for SISU to invest in this team with the buzz in Coventry as a whole at present.

We should sell Bayliss to Norwich. I hear they’re in the market for an attacking midfielder. £22 million should cover it...

You'd like to think the club would actually invest a substantial % of any fee received, if so we could actually challenge for promotion again!

We could use the Maddison money to buy some land and build a new, top grade academy,
That would allow us to recruit the top talent outside the premier league, and feed the first team for years to come. We already have a good reputation for developing youngsters, so why not build on that.

Theres much than that to a category 1 academy. You need links and partnerships with schools, sport science, much more full time staff etc. It’s all very cliquey and set up for the elite

Category 2 is fine - there is not much difference between operating at category 1 and category 2 apart from opponents and recruitment. We would have still lost the young lad who went to Man United even if we were category 1

Thanks for the info. Very useful.
I would like some of the income we receive from Maddison's sell on to help find the next young stars.

I hope we keep Bayliss but for him and Norwich if they do cash in on Madders I wouldn't back against it as it would be a good move for both him and them.

I certainly want to keep him too. Even on his bad games this year (there weren’t many) he showed flashes of brilliance.
Hopefully Maddison’s sale may make Bayliss staying more realistic.
We could also do with Callum Wilson moving on somewhere...

Great news for us obviously if he does get sold - but - we need to get real about thinking we can spend the money we receive on transfers. Any money we get will go towards covering costs and operating losses, which means SISU essentially won't have to put their hands in their pockets to keep the club going. The playing budget won't change regardless of whether Maddison is sold or not.

Those costs need recovering though regardless and potential suitors know that we have to sell, so if this means that we can dictate the price of eg Bayliss and not the usual fire sale we can strike a better deal. Dele Alli went from L1 for £8m if e can get to January we could be talking similar but currently more like £2m. In the Championship we could get significantly more as proven with Madders so hopefully might give us more of a bargaining chip and whatever we think of our owners they are smart business people.

Talk of Grealish going from Villa for 40m, I don't see a great deal of difference between the two players, I certainly wouldn't say that Grealish is twice as good as Maddison.

40 million is comical. The most over-hyped player going IMO. Year old than Maddison, less goals in his career, far less assists and to top it off his attitude stinks.

Got injured during the last game of the season. Looked like a bad ligament injury at the time, but the scan was positive - 8 weeks to return to training. I'm guessing grade 1 strain - very lucky for us!

Is he really like to move without a medical and before he's back playing again? Might be very late in the window before Robins gets some cash in hand from this one.

Whatever it is it would not be nearly enough. For instance Fleetwood's new academy cost £8M, a similar sum to the cost of the Allard way complex the Higgs Charity paid for.

It's already been a month since the injury, so he will be back for pre-season training. Should not delay matters when it comes to transfer imho.

Lets say Maddison is sold to Everton for 25m and Norwich negotiate a sell on clause of say 15% above 25m. Do we receive a percentage of Norwich's future income from JM?

Edit. Still cant get my head around 20-25m. Seems like the steal of the season for whomever gets him.
