So obviously it's terrible news in regards to JM injury, not what we were looking for at all. I do however feel that all the doom and gloom may not be necessary, from what i've seen so far this season i genuinely believe Lameiras has the ability play that no. 10 role. He has good feet and can pick a pass, against Walsall admittedly he did lose the ball a few times but that tight pitch wasn't conducive to that style of play, all of our players struggled to get into their rhythm. I have to say I was very surprised that TM moved JOB into the middle when Maddison went off. I think Murphy has shown glimpses and a regular run in the team should only improve his form.

Ideally i'd like to see a midfield of:

Vincelot Fleck

Murphy Lameiras JOB

I think TM does need to be making a signing but not a replacement for Maddison, more cover for the aforementioned 5

Lameries played in the number 10 role for Spurs development team, his youtube video also highlights his passing range and ability, more than adequate replacement playing in his more natural position behind the striker.

Big miss with JM, but he will come back fresher and stronger.

He should have played there on Saturday. Playing him in front of Willis on the right instead of O'Brien was a big factor in how poor we were defensively on that side of the pitch.

Jordan Willis out for a few months too..

Less bothered about that and hope it forces TM to act on the RB position, Willis was poor against Crewe and admittedly while Lameiras didn't support him defensively against Walsall he was absolutelt torn apart, don't think he is good enough, good athlete but lacks the intelligence, compare him to Stokes at LB who i feel has a much better decision making ability- gets forward at the right times and is solid defensively when required

Agreed, would like to see JM hit the upper body weights while out, think a bit of strength would really improve his game

I think Swanson could still come good! He has not been given much of a chance

Every cloud.

Leaves us vulnerable at right back. Young Phillips doesn't have the greatest record at staying injury free. Is on of the Kelly-Evans lads a right back? Feel Jordan Willis is more of a centre back anyway

Philips lacks the physical strength of Willis though and has been burned a few times himself.

Do prefer Philips to Willis though at right back for sure. Gives us much more in terms of options going forwards.

He's pretty much been playing there since the start of the season. I do feel now that that he should take Maddison's place, O'Brien on the right and Murphy on the left.

yup i would play lameriies in middle too, he can drop deep to get the ball too which is what we will miss most without maddison.

if not swanson played amc a few times under pressley i think, wouldnt mind seeing him given a chance either

if we cope without maddison then it will give the whole team confidence when he comes back as a boost.

Would like to see Swanson given a chance - even if it's from the bench for Murphy/Lameiras/O'Brien. Looked lively against Nuneaton, and probably got a point to proove.

I'd bring in Swanson for Maddison and hope he can link up with Lameiras in the way Maddison did.
