I imagine so, he'd still be blind in one eye.

Pressley said: “I feel that Ben, Louis and Lewis are at a point in their career where they should be pushing for first team football.

“It’s a difficult decision to let any player go but especially players that have been with the club for many years and have developed through our Academy structure. We will do all we can to help and assist them in their future careers.

“From the club’s point of view, it’s massively important that we continue to develop our own but part of this strategy is the pathway for our elite young players."

Rave reviews from the academy coach? Scoring for fun in the academy?

Never going to get a contract with us really, was he?

Shame, as he and Maund both looked decent last pre season.

Seems strange we're letting two strikers go when we're already short in that department.

Maybe they'll do a Jordan Clarke and buck up their ideas, forcing Pressley to change his mind?

I think if the club have decided he wont fit into the 1st team setup they have had to let him go. The club unfortunately doesnt have room/or money for people to sit and rot in reserves or the bench and clearly Garner was going to do that. At least in footballing terms we are being decisive about who fits into the squad and who does which i kind of like. Before anyone starts this isnt a pro SISU post just an observation on how we have been moving players on over the last couple of years.

Best of luck to him though.

I agree Stu. Just couldn't think of how to word what I wanted to say! But I too agree Pressley is not going to be able to hang onto passengers with FFP coming into effect. He will only be able to have players who are going to get game time. Presumably he doesn't think any of these will.

Shame though

Murphy is on too much money for League One. Christie and Moussa will let their contracts run down and go onto better things.

Wilson, who knows, I would say he would be happy and proud playing for his home team in Coventry, but playing in Northampton, who knows.

It does beg the question that if he was a good prospect and scoring goals and they let him go, who else from the academy is going to come through? As I said earlier about the club saying about using 11 academy players next season, who is better than him that we haven't heard of?

I wonder if SP meant 11 Academy Graduates or 11 players from the Academy? I haven't seen the article fully so can't really distinguish either way, however I am slightly concerned by this move, Ben Maund I could understand, along with Lewis Rankin, but Louis Garner makes no sense, he is quick, skilful, has an end product and can play in a variety of positions.

Not delusional at all. Waggott has an imput in team affairs and will most likely have Fishy Tim whispering in his ear. I have heard very good tings about Garner and IMO its ridiculous that we're letting such a promising young player leave

Loan them out then. If they have potential then loan them out and give them the oppurtunity for some 1st team action

So the club involve SISU in getting rid of a youth team player, but dont involve them in with holding rent ?

Judging by his Twitter it wasn't for footballing reasons.

yeah I am sure that will come out in the wash! Maybe he was being sued by SISU for saying something they didn't agree with???
