I did a cutting diet for a week (it was rank so couldn't be arsed to commit) and the volume of food I had to eat was amazing. Eating every 4 hours to lose weight seems counter productive, but it works.

If you want to cut fat you need to eat less fat and more often. Calorie Deficit isn't necessarily the key.

Cheers, will have a look.

Most of that looks like what I am eating mostly.

Protein / Porridge in the morning
Loads of fruit
Chicken or Fish with Veg and brown rice
More fruit / high protein yoghurt / nuts etc
Chicken or Fish in the evening with sweet potato
Casein before bed and a protein drink after the gym

Might try and get a pro to make me a plan!

Just tried the site, when I make one and choose low carb it suggests 4 meals, I press save and it then goes to deathwish and unhealthy! ha

It suggested this as a meal:

Just need somebody to say "go to tesco and buy this every week", have these 4 meals and I could do it piece of piss. Mixed in with the gym / circuits it "should" drop off and be ripped.

greek yogurt, nonfat(?) 470.85 g
chia seeds(?) 14.24 g
shredded wheat, plain(?)

Meal one for me. Have you ever tried eating a full pot of natural yoghurt with Shredded wheat. It works, but it's no taste sensation.

I don't mind natural yoghurt and could eat a full pot easy. Can get them in Tesco for about 75p or more if you want high protein.

Not so sure about the Shredded Wheat though, it might be OK mixed in.

Mate I tried it and managed about 3/4 spoons. Chia seeds are awesome for filling you up. They expand to something like 4 times their size in the stomach and really fill you up.

Yeah I chuck them in everything at the minute when I remember.

Cottage cheese is another good one! Had a pack of turkey meatballs, tub of cottage cheese and veg last night. Did the job.

But is that calorie deflect monday to sun every meal and cardio every day with weights? people can be strict mon to fri and bust their ass then cheat on the weekends but those cheats will just ruin all your hard work of 5 days, ya youll lose weight but take very long time and you wont see results and think your doing it right. problem is as we get older our metabolism really slows down your body always stores and sucks in fat way faster then lose it. a strict diet and no cheating cardio every day even twice a day for 6 weeks you'll see results just takes patient and time and discipline and preparation.

There is a deficit every day, obviously more of a deficit on workout days but still below even on non workout days.

Am already much fitter cardio wise but struggle with knee when trying to do loads so have to stick to cross trainer

are you weighing your food tho against your weight each week? i cant remember where i read it but they found that you plateau after like 4 weeks, its more tinkering around with your carbs but im the same ive to brutally drop my carbs to sfa in order to lose weight and be really strict. try taking joint tablets GAT do really good ones it help and omega 3 fish oils ive both every day with my dodgy everything lol.

Most of it is frozen rice, veg or fish so don't weight it to the exact gram but know roughly how much it is and counting calories in my fitness app.

Doing that would mean taking an 8 year old and making her wait outside the gym by herself for an hour before I drop her off at school

Isn't physically possible to do anything in the mornings now

Just got my holiday photos back and in every shot of me I actually look pregnant.
I'll have to wear looser shirts or somehow lose weight or maybe just suck in my stomach for photos.
I'm only 79kg so not exactly fat, it's just my stomach. I'm fine everywhere else.
It feels firm not flabby but I need to do something about it. How do you target just that one area?

Running and core twists and sit ups plus leg raises plus clean diet, try cutting out carbs are 7pm people forget when you eat carbs like bread ect takes body a good while to break it down thats why people wake up not wanting breakfast or eat something crap and fast then out the door. rice cakes in the evening be fine tho with small bit of peanut butter

Looks like it is going well mate. My Mrs already thinks it's bad enough I talk to strangers on the Internet, if she saw this thread I think it'd be the final straw.

I used to lose weight very easily, just doing cardio at the gym 2-3 times a week and watching what I eat a bit. Now I have to work very hard at the gym and be very strict with myself if I want to lose anything, it's too much like hard work when you're busy all week working.

I think for me it's just eating in moderation, take a record of everything you eat and alter each week to try and avoid shitty foods. I think I would be destined to fail if I had to prepare food like some mentioned on here, I just don't have the time with work and kids etc. Still think you can eat simple and achieve weight loss, equally helped with moderate exercise. Good luck to all, it's great people are trying to be more healthy, if everyone could do some minimal exercise each day or every other day then they would feel the difference

Spent a few weeks hammering the gym, did a few double sessions with an hour cardio in the evening and an hour weights in the morning and didn't lose a bean. Go away for a few days and don't really eat properly, no exercise (apart from walking) and a few beers and I lose 3lb.

Hit the gym and circuits again and eating properly and not a jot!
