THE CITY of Coventry Stadium is banning fans from posting pictures of Olympic football on Facebook and Twitter, the Coventry Telegraph can reveal.
The London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) has slapped a ban on pictures taken on mobile phones being posted on social media websites.
The City of Coventry Stadium is the only London 2012 Olympics football venue to bring in the rule.
Mystery still surrounds how the bizarre ban will be enforced but shocked fans today posted messages online rubbishing the idea.
LOCOG’s Prohibited and Restricted Items list states: “Mobile telephones are permitted providing they are used for personal and private use only, provided that no audio/visual material captured may be published or otherwise made available to any third parties including via social networking sites."
None of the other Olympic football venues have any such social media ban.
