How would the posters on SBT play the team on Tuesday?

I would play it like this:

-------------Murphy--------------
Clarke--Brown--Wood--Hussey
------------Jennings-------------
------Barton------Kilbane-------
-------------Fleck*---------------
-----Elliott/Ball----McDonald-----

*If not 100% Baker to come in.

Potentially Malaga to come for Brown, but I think Brown will get better with each game as he + Wood were solid against D&R. Also, just saying, Norwood got better as the season went on.

How come he's never on form? ...

Or is it that he is just SH!T!?

Now we have Fleck, he is a squad member, not a 1st teamer imo.

Because Barton played 90 minutes yesterday after 7 months out, would be very surprised if he was fit enough to start on Tuesday.

What do you mean "how can I play 442" I mean the diamond worked so well yesterday, let's stick with that...

We haven't lost with it in pre-season nor in the season, why 'fix' something when it clearly is not broken...

He tried 4-4-2 when the PLAYERS wanted it and I can't recall getting a result with it!? :jerkit::claping hands:

With this group of players? No. Were crying out for a bit of width. Bail it with the emotions as well.

Hopefully both Elliott and Jennings will be fit enough to start , we need experienced players for the bigger games this season

We're not, because when we have it we do worse, refer to: Ross County, ICT, Nuneaton and Wrexham for whrn we played with wingers...

Sky blue Taylor as you clearly are an expert on formations name a club that employs such a narrow midfield formation as ours which have successfully achieved promotion out of this league.

That one, please. 100% agree on all of it. Malaga if Cameron not fit (I don't think he is).

Keep the ball on the deck, and pass at tempo, to feet, towards the opposition goal when possible, and create space by movement off the ball. Force mistakes out of the opposition by running at them with the ball (Baker, Hussey, Clarke, Barton). DO NOT serve up a feast for the opposition CB's by lumping it long.

Whilst not answering your question entirely, AC Milan use it, Italy also, with Monty pushing forward to form a diamond.

They might not be very good wingers, but they are wingers. At this level they could be effective.

But when they've played on the wings, they've been ineffective.

Actually, Baker was at his best 'in the hole' for Stockport and inconsistent on the wing for us.

At a higher level they were ineffective. Worth a try at this level.
