But that's exactly what you are doing. You don't believe he is right so you have no time for him or his comments.

No he's not. He's ignoring him because he's failed to make valid points or answer reasonable questions and basically acts like an offensive nutter with delusions of grandeur. ;)

And there aren't any offensive - and anonymous - nutters on here?

I read his printed work. I give each story he writes due consideration.

My position is not fixed. I can be won over with evidence and a well argued account. What does not change my view is an opinion piece with additional commentary telling me what I should be thinking about each statement. I like everyone should read much then decide for themselves.

The entrenched position of some which requires them to argue every point to support their original position is sad to see. It is why we have some obsessives who have to dismiss out of hand anything that challenges their world view as wrong, and anyone who accepts the situation as delusional, obsessive, idiotic, tim, joy, sisu fan, acl fan, ccc fan, and so fourth Ad nauseam.

I have a few people who I have little time for. I still read and listen to what they say, because what they say is still important, and could change my view.

I remember when I respected Les Reid, read everything he put, where he was neautral and put everything in to consideration. It is only lately when he has produced stuff which is "slightly" more one-sided than before, that he has had issues with people, and started to suffer this "meltdown". My personal view as to why this is, is because he is a political journalist. Obviously this makes it easier for him to challenge the council. So he is doing what he is good at I guess.

Now I don't follow him on twitter, nor do I read his stuff. It does not interest me. Only reason I found out about his rant with supporters direct is because I follow them.

As he's on Twitter constantly retweeting praise in that odd way people do so they can promote themselves to people who are already following them anyway, he's obviously a bit of a self-publicist. He is right that people have begun to obsess over him though. Normally if someone loses credibility they're best ignored rather than hailed as the great enemy.

Indeed, hence why I don't bother reading much of his stuff. That's the problem with Twitter, unlike traditional journalism it's quick gratification for the journalist through fawning responses, or, it's instant disparagement. It leads the journalist to have a bit of siege mentality rather than just ignoring it.

I have stopped following him on Twitter a while back, because I was attack by his supporters for disagreeing with his view. I do think it goes a little too far when a simple question results in threats of violence. He however can't he held accountable for the actions of the people that follow him. He also never answered any of my twitter questions. I did test it by sending him a tweet that was praising him. That was re-tweeted straight away by him.

Still I do read his stories.

I could almost gip at this one:

'well done Les your reporting and pressure has brought this about, thankyou!'

And he retweets it! Have you no dignity or sense of decorum, man? How embarrassing. If it's a compliment, take it as a compliment. Re-tweeting it is so cringe-worthy I can't think of an act as similarly self-glorifying; expect maybe having lots of certificates up on your office wall. I can barely type this as I can't stop shaking my head in involuntarily dismay

At least he thanked the sky blue trust, the "get cov back to the ricoh" campaign, and the keep cov in c...... oh, wait he must have missed out the "anti-sisu" campaign. Bless him.

He has sent several tweets to the guys running the "mighty" get cov back to the ricoh campaign. Fair play to them they did more than most of us! But I cant help but feel he is purposefully missing out the keep cov in cov campaign.

Just to add insult to injury he has made another comment about people on this forum :) cheers les!

fair play to ALL campaigns who have managed to do something in making this happen. Not just the ones les mentioned in his tweet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Les Reid or any campaigns have anything to do with possible talks?
Wasn't what happened.

1. Sisu issued a near slanderous statement attacking Ann Lucas personally
2. Ann Lucas responded angrily putting Joy Seppala under serious pressure to meet
3. Joy apparently responded
4. Fook knows if anything will come out of it

Is that it.

Nah, it was Les bringing people together you fool! After this, he should tour zoos and get hesitant pandas to finally have sex with each other and preserve the species. Maybe reunite Korea via Instagram?

What set him off?

I think I did by challenging his headline about SISU 'inviting' the council..he can't take any criticism.

Jack Griffin ‏@Jack_Griffin 20h

@Lesreidpolitics Invitation? Its another PR statement that backfired. It really got peoples backs up on http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk

So according to him anyone who posted a negative view about Seppala's statement yesterday is amongst a few obsessives... I don't think the idea that we're all fans of CCFC seems accord any respect for this journalist..

I don't care, I try not to be abusive or make stuff up, though I might post a contrary viewpoint, I wonder then what reason would he have to block me?

The Telegraph editor needs to take a firmer hand with Les Reid. Granted, its his personal Twitter account, but his rather obsessive views and the way he talks to some of the people who don't agree with him, will surely become an embarrassment to his employers.

I work in the public sector and it can be a disciplinary matter if we start spouting things on twitter/facebook/forums that could be factually incorrect or have a negative bearing for our employers' image - not only on the firm's account but on our own. If I addressed the public in a manner akin to Les' I'd definitely get carpeted.

Generally speaking I like Les Reid and most of what he writes. But it feels like he's starting to take things a bit personally, and worse, make things a bit personal.

'A few angry obsessives' is a rather unnecessary insult. If he thinks everyone here holds the same opinion then he really needs to read a bit more!

I don't know whether this forum reflects popular opinion or not, and I don't think it's ever wise to claim that you speak for the majority unless you've troubled yourself to put your beliefs to the vote.

This claim that the 'majority of taxpayers and fans want CCFC back at the Ricoh' is completely without nuance or evidence. I do want CCFC back at the Ricoh, but not if it costs the taxpayer. It seems there's another bunch of people who don't care if it costs the taxpayer, and there's a third set that want CCFC back, but not with SISU owning the stadium regardless of what they might offer. There are even some that want to stay at Northampton, bless 'em.

I don't know what the proportions are between those groups, but it saddens me that an otherwise pretty decent journalist now seems to be offering his personal opinion under the mantle of speaking for the majority.

Really?

The man is sensationalist and aggressive in all his stories. Each one has an enemy, and it's normally a public body of some form.

The way he was crowing like he'd solved the middle east peace process yesterday was very amusing.
