I can understand arguments/points around whether he was wasteful, but why would he not be bothered, if not for the club, then because he was in the biggest shop window he's ever likely to find? Clearly, he wasn't allowed a look in first half.
People complain about there being a lack of loyalty from football players. Footie fans are just as bad: as soon as a striker's off some fans have a collective amnesia about what the player's done/achieved for the club. Me, I've loved the season, and Leon's being a core part of it. I will wish him well.

Agree with all that. An employee of the club has asked for permission to leave so he can get a better job, he hasn't gone on strike, sulked about, flicked bogeys at supporters etc etc. Good luck to him.

He would not be bothered cause didn't want to get injured, I've never questioned what he's done for city and I wish him well an don't really blame him for leaving. I think it was down to tactics as second half we had our usual high press and Leon came alive. Just thought he looked uninterested first half

Agree. His shot at the end was weak but he had a good second half. People need to get a bit of perspective.

That's true up to a point but he's also got to get the ball past the Premier League leader's goalkeeper! There's a gulf in class.
We can be right to be disappointed to be beaten, but even under pressure at times I thought we knocked the ball out well. Despite the score line we were not disgraced...& in fact can be proud of the lads' effort & application. We create some clear cut opportunities but missed them.
Lost to a better side.
BUT proud SB fan here !

The worst thing about it all was seeing him with his back to the SBA at the end when all of the other players were applauding. Pressley had to force him over to clap. To me that means he's not interested in us or the club and the sooner he's off and we get a replacement the better. I can't imagine him being a positive influence in the dressing room at all right now

Did you watch the game? Christie was excellent tonight and was instrumental in that 2nd half turnaround in performance....

The first two post on this thread are bang out of order, this wasn't an Arsenal B team.
The players did the club proud tonight, we were better than Arsenal for the majority of the second half and a 4-0 was not a fair reflection on the game.

Think it was the plan to low press for the first half. Hope to go in the half at nil all. Then switch to the high press. Leon was not part of the plan for the first half. Those two late goals came at the cost of the high press. I think Pressley applied to much maths. Much better display second half. But to do that for 90 would have meant certain exposure.

Well said Grendull. Unusually spot on. We played against a team where every player is worth more than our football club. Leon is a striker and not a midfielder. He gave full effort in the area he plays in. Or should he have run around using up his energy chasing lost causes?
