It's based on Turnover, not profit. They can continue to lose £30mil but their income (not profit) determines their benchmark ie FFP. If they have revenue streams from their stadium along side tickets, sponsership and merch, their out goings can be as high as they like.
In regards to us, rent reduction is vital in terms of viability, revenue streams are vital in terms being competative on the pitch.

No sanctions will brought on clubs who fail to comply with the guidelines until 2014/15 in the Championship.
The next couple of seasons losses should be reduced to get clubs acclimatised but even if they just spend big and make a huge loss then nothing will happen.
In league 1 and 2 things are different with turnover being the main factor of what you can spend and the rules have to be adhered to now.
We are in the wrong league unfortunately.
Just to be clear Leicester City's total turnover in this period was £21.4 million..........................wages alone cost £27.7 million, am I right in saying that to comply with new rules at 65% of turnover then their wage bill has to come down to less than £14 million ??
So our wage bill is reputedly £3.7 million and still too high and theirs is £27.7 million and people wonder why we cannot compete any more with what was once a similar sized club to us !?

And whose fault was that, just a modicum of appropriate investment at the right time rather than selling our top goalscorer midway through the season and we may be in the right league !?

That's not strictly true. In the Championship it's about restricting losses and nothing to do with turnover. However the rules only become effective from 2014.
It's only league 1 and 2 where turnover is the key factor governing what you can spend.

i have always said the club lost their bottle at the wrong time. when we came down from the premier league, we should have invested to go straight back up

How the heck have Ipswich got into the debate. Also we could have easily owned our ground by now if the had stuck to the so called plan they had when taking us over. Wasn't they going to by 50% stake, and then for the next couple of seasons RR kept saying they couldn't invest in the team because we need to buy the ground first. Well we ended up with neither the ground or any serious investment in the team and THAT is why we are where we are at the moment. feck all to do with ACL/CCC

The rules for the championship are not the same as for league 0ne, they will not even be enforced this season.
