Spoke to someone (has since left the club) fairly high up at Leicester in the summer.
He wouldn't give too much away but did call them a sinking ship.
He said they are expecting a points deduction.
Said it would likely be 9-12 but probably reduced to 6 on appeal.

They are going to get away with 6 aren't they!!!!!!

I'm going for 9 pts from the Premier league reduced to 6 on appeal. Then 9 pts from the EFL reduced to 6 on appeal.

Chances are they will break them again this season which should feck them up next season as well. 🤘👋

My personal opinion is if they did get 9 to 12 they wouldn't get it reduced.
They've failed to co-operate at every turn which I think would scupper any grounds they had for appeal but that's just my guess

Even a 6 point deduction though would make it incredibly unlikely that they could get to 90 points

Strong rumours doing the rounds on X tonight that Leicester City are not able to fulfill non-playing staff wages till the New Year

There are ordinary people caught up in non-playing staff not being paid (if true). Football rivalry is one thing but that is nothing to celebrate.

Who is celebrating?

It just shows how bad their finances have got. They already mortgaged the last of their Prem money to keep going this season. They were stuck with average players on massive wages that nobody was interested in. They had to go up this season or were going to be in big trouble.

They may be in 8th but they're 3 points off 6th and only 3 points off 16th with a points deduction overdue. Just a 6 point deduction would finish their season.

Reading their forum, it sounds like they've changed the payment date for wages to the last day of the month to bring in line with the rest of the company group.

The anger is because they were given 24 hours notice rather than being told weeks ago.

That’s appalling with no notice if you were expecting payment pre Christmas . Absolute piss poor HR practice .

Cashflow is likely a real problem for them. It seems their chairman isn't funding the club anymore it's all coming from a bank out of Australia (Macquarie) leveraged against PL payments and parachute payments. My guess is they're also looking to bring forward transfer instalments to essentially cover operational costs - which will still be eye-watering despite the amount of players they moved on in the summer.

I'd imagine his hope is that the players which have 6 months left on their deals will be moved on in Jan....but who's realistically matching those wages.

If unsuccessful, I wouldn't be surprised if Monga or Fatawu are sold last minute to see them through until the end of the season.

The problem Leicester have with Monga is that he hasn't actually signed a pro deal with them yet and part of the reason he was fast tracked into their first team was to avoid losing him to someone like Man City. That was insight given to me by some Leicester STH.

Funnily enough, the guy seems to know George Shepard's dad or something because he told me a) Man U were interested and b) he'd sign a pro contract at Cov before both pieces of news broke. Frankly, I took it with a pinch of salt.

I mean this is better than not getting paid at all but still completely unacceptable, what a shit thing to happen to people at this time of year

Perhaps we should turn your Leicester mate into one of our very own ITK's . He seems to know more than our lot.
