Very tricky to get new manager hire right on the first attempt. Especially as a new owner with no experience.

Also a new manager would still have the same midfield options

Put it this way, he’s not going to be thinking of the response from the fans when the stats are clear as day

we’re on a prolonged decline on the pitch and something has got to give

If King got somebody new in they would still have to work with this group of coaches that would have helped Robins get the sack. A new manager would most likely want his group of coaches.

Saddle what’s going on with the recruitment at the club? In particular the goalkeeper situation, it doesn’t half feel like Groundhog Day?

Our recruitment team had a few wins with the Saka and MVE signings, Doug loosened the purse strings and invested about 14 million for EMC, Kitching and Torp and Dovan and arguably none would be in our current best 11. Is that not a bit of a concern?

The players have had 3 months to get to know ( they don’t like ? ) each other.
MR has had 3 months to work out his best 11.
No wonder Wright has looked pissed off to be dropped for Mason Clarke.
Simms looks like a pub player again.
The defence needs a McFadzean
These performance/ sleep/ confidence coaches are doing great…..We've got no confidence at all now, their best performances are obviously in the sack and they’re mostly asleep for 90 minutes through matches.

I can’t see the coaches staying, I wouldn’t want them too either to be fair

new coach needs his own staff

Well his past does matter , most rational clubs don't sack a manager 7 games into a season after giving them 7 pretty good years

You say that but I read something on Leicester when they won the FA Cup.

it’s thought had they sacked Rodgers earlier they could have stayed up.

Last season we still resembled a team, and unlucky. This season we look disjointed and honestly it looks like the dressing room has gone.

At that point the manager is on borrowed time regardless

Wright wasn't dropped for EMC last Saturday when he was, sauntering about without a single fuck given.
He deserved to be dropped.

People can't moan about the lack of effort today while simultaneously complaining that a player who didn't try last Saturday didn't start, (well they can, but it's a pretty daft take).

not a chance a new manager gets to replace the entire backroom staff. at best he's get to bring one assistant in and even that depends on if those in charge of recruitment believe we have a position vacant for an assistant manager.

Leeds played really well. We were poor ( first half in particular) Next 2 home games, we really need to win one of them. Only positives for me today, Sakamoto looking fitter, Sheaf not injured. Also our fans cheering 90 yo Leeds lady. Well done SBA

Not sure what was wrong with Wright last week but he’s head and shoulders above and beyond that one trick Peterborough pony !

Ability wise, yes.
But if a player doesn't try he needs dropping. Even if it's for an inferior player.

Any one else see the verbals Thomas and MVE were giving each other today. We have a very unhappy camp, team spirit has just gone and really shows in our performances. Not sure how you fix that.

Wright didn't fancy having a shower last week so thought he'd stroll around like someone on a mobility scooter.

Frustrating as it is we’ve started this season exactly the same as every other, now as cov fans we’ve come through more shit than most but this is a test for us as well, you can either join the robins is the problem crowd ( which he isn’t ,players letting him down massively ) that’s the easy option, or get up there the next 2 games and show them exactly what fans theyre playing for, least then we’ve done our bit, if that’s doesn’t get us going then I fear the worst , hard to imagine us without robins but I don’t think Doug will have the patience we do, next 2 games the atmosphere could be brilliant or toxic, if it’s the latter i fear the worst

He needs to pick a team and stick with it and hopefully that side wouldn’t include Wilson, Lati or that useless lump from Peterborough

I'd still like to see the Venn diagram of people who are already writing off EMC and those who wrote Wright off last season.

Nah - we’re going down the modern route. The “manager” is a dying breed. It’ll be a head coach.

Agree about the first 2 but I think EMC will come good.
Doesn't help him keep being played on the left which it looked as though Robins had stopped doing but he clearly wanted to send Wright a message today.
